A pretty nice station overall, with bathrooms and a Tasty Burger right next to it, it’s just the commuter rail area always seems dark and damp

Small dog poop around the floor. Got excellent help at the information window. The black associate was very nice and helped me read my train ticket then directly to my track.

Dated and dirty. Super cold if you’re waiting in the terminal since it’s in the open. No heat.

I mean, it certainly has a particularly charm…like old London before germ theory was established. That being said, it does serve as a hub for several train lines including Amtrak; nice to not have to go all the way to South Station every time.

There is also an escalator if the elevators aren't working.
South Station on a Sunday Downtown Crossing via Summer Street with Tatte Cafe and Bakery for nice place to enjoy coffee and breakfast, and Nero Coffee Restaurant a little further up Summer Street walking towards Washington Street. Back Bay walking down Dartmouth Street there's Old South Church on Boylston Street with Boston Marathon Finish Line in front of the Church.
Taxis are going the way of pay phones...better to call for one.
No, it's more closer to Copley 🙂
No
One arrived at 10:54 am, next is 12:23 pm
No, it's really more of a sub-station in my opinion. South Station is very close by and so much better, in my opinion anyway.
You can buy Amtrak tickets there at the Amtrak / MBTA Windows. You can buy Amtrak tickets there in the Amtrak / MBTA ticket window.
You won't find a motel in the city. You could take the subway or commuter rail out of the city for a motel. There are hotels close to Back Bay, but probably more expensive.
Unfortunately, not widely available, though Amtrak might provide this service if you are able to pay.
Orange Line towards Oak Grove
Google Maps says that there is at least Avis and Budget in the Clarendon St garage, which is nearby. Very walkable, and I am not sure if it connects to the station.
There is no dedicated parking place at back bay station as far as i know, but there are some paid parking places nearby.
Yes, best access is on either side of thebstation, the side on Dartmouth has decent access.
It depends where you park, if it is on the street, it is not as expensive. However, there are many garages around that offer parking. It can be expensive.
You can take the green line, B line train from Copley to go to Allston. It is not walkable distance. Or get a cab or uber.
Zipcar, Avis, and Budget according to Google Maps
Just the subway fare of $2.75 ($2.25 Charliecard). I think the commuter rail is also $2.25.
You can park at 100 Clarendon Street: Up to 1 Hour $12.00 1-2 Hours $20.00 2 Hours to 24 Hours $36.00
If you are using the mTicket app, you dont need to print it. You only need to activate it
Besides taking the speedy acela towards washington district of columbia, you can also get there Northeast Regional to Newport News or Virginia beach on tracks 1 and 3 which are the same exact platforms for the providence, needham and Franklin commuter rail lines. Make sure you don't go to track 2 as that will take you towards south station, tracks 5 and 7 which are for the Lake Shore Limited to Chicago as well as the commuter rail trains heading to Worcester or Framingham make sure you don't take the orange line or any of the buses. Enjoy your trip
Can range from $50 to $80 one way on the Northeast Regional, depending on the time of travel. Acela tickets tend to be about twice as expensive.
