A beautiful church building and a really cool and famous piece of American history. It's amazing to think that over 200 years ago the lanterns hung in this steeple. You can take a nice self guided tour around the historic church.

It’s there. On a crowded side street. To be fair, we were only walking by - hoping for a great photo. The location doesn’t lend itself to that however. Still, an historic place on colonial America’s map.

This was a great stop. I think I was more excited then the kids. Just seeing the church, walking through it and seeing all the pictures and history inside was awesome. The best part was the crypto tour. Going under the church and seeing all the crypts, walls floors and structure was really cool. The history here is unbelievable. Worth the $ for the tour's.

This was one of the highlights of our Freedom Walk. We were able to take a tour of the crypt and our guide even took us up into the bell tower of the church! It was an amazing experience, one that our Scouts won't soon forget.

To the best of my knowledge, most of it. The steeple has been replaced twice. Once because of a snow storm and once because of a hurricane. Early 1800s and mid 1900s respectively. The rest is brick and original. Even the bells are still original only the wooden steeple was replaced.
Yes, as of 2283, they are still in operation.
They do give tours. They have multiple options for tours throughout the day. This link will give you all of the information you need, plus the option to purchase tickets. https://oldnorth.com/historic-site/individuals-families I was here recently and did the Behind the Scenes tour. Would definitely recommend it!
Yes it's 8 dollars a person. We just left. You get tickets in the gift shop
I took photos of all the plaques I saw on or around the church. So look they my photos here and maybe it's there. With this said I may have missed it so if you don't see it. It doesn't mean there isn't one there but take a second and look thru my photos hopefully it will help you out.
Im not sure of the time, but regular members of the church will be there and all the curious tourists, so come early. Space is quite limited.
It was built as an Anglican church.
Did you what to buy them directly from the church for sentimental purposes or just replicas? If just replicas Amazon will be far cheaper. 🙂
Per the site, groups of 8 or more can/should make reservations. Individuals there will be someone to take your $8 admission fee for tour of church, gardens, chocolate shop, and another place. Church services are at 9 & 11am-- Sundays.
The Church is open from noon to 4pm.
Robert Newman brought the lantern to the top of the Old North Church to let Paul Revere and William Dawes know the British were going to Lexington and Concord to capture weapons and the leadership of the America. Rebellion.
Depending on where you are coming from, I would get an Uber or Lyft. Most of the parking is for residents. There is no church parking lot. There is minimal buisness parking as well and it usually fills up early. Google public parking and plan on walking a ways. I am from a small town as well and had to rethink getting around. We flew in and used uber the whole time we were there, 9 days. First time experience for that as well but very positive.
It's free to just go in and walk around, but if you want a tour then there is a fee
