Sunken gardens was really beautiful. Many opportunities for gorgeous pictures. Flamingos are my favorite and I loved seeing them so happy in their habitat. I recommend you bring LOTS of mosquito repellent! FYI- you can bring outside drinks in. Such a beautiful and well preserved park.

This is a smaller garden but a very Zen place. I enjoyed my time here. It doesn't take very long to walk around the entire garden. I recommend bringing water. I love the tropical feel and seeing the butterflies. The staff were very warm and friendly. I appreciate that. I love the flamingos I do wish they had a bigger area for them. As well as the birds I wish there was a huge atrium for them to fly around in. However the animals were well taken care of and looked healthy. They do have an option to get married here for those who are looking. Great place to take photos. It isn't very expensive and parking is free which is always a bonus. They have food for the koi fish for about $2 which isn't too bad. Great place for families and those who are solo looking for something to do. I do like the gift shop they have a mixture of various garden eclectic items.

We visited during a recent family trip to St.Pete’s beaches. I had seen this listed as one of the things to do while in the area. I enjoyed walking through the beautifully laid out grounds and seeing all the magnificent plants and trees. The size of some of the trees is incredible. I am an amateur gardener and houseplant lover but given that I live in NY we aren’t able to grow most of these varieties, so this was really interesting to me. There is also a great history here and learning opportunities if you’re interested. My husband and 6 year old son got bored somewhat quickly so there’s that. But I could have spent much more time there. It is truly very tranquil and zen being surrounded by all that plant life. It is a little small but reasonably priced. My family did all love the flamingos and koi pond and waterfalls. We were a little disappointed that the birds were not available at the time that we went due to caution over the bird flu outbreak, but I totally understand that health is priority. Hopefully we will get to visit another time. It was April so not very buggy yet as some other reviews had mentioned. A very nice experience overall and would love to visit again if in the area.

Visited with the family. We all enjoyed our relaxing walk through the gardens. Kids really liked seeing the flamingos, turtles & laughing kookaburra. My wife is an avid gardener, she thoroughly enjoyed her time walking around and getting inspiration from the garden.

Yes all areas are accessible through nice smooth paths that are wide enough for a wheelchair. Well worth a visit!
General Admission: $10/Adults, $8/Seniors (62+), $4/Children (age 2-11 Year passes include discounts to partner gardens and attractions. Discounts can often be found on Groupon for family and year passes.
I don't know, I was there in the beginning of November.
My wife and I went last week and yes they will take $1 off each family member with you. Its amazing!
Yes. There are plenty of opportunities for beautiful shots of the flowers, birds, flamingos, and koi fish
They have Flamingos. Some parrots. And a tortoise
I am currently planning a wedding here. Its a pretty popular place. The first available the had for us was spring 2019. Call her for sure shr is super nice and very informative.
Went a few days after, there were some bent/broken limbs but nothing major.
ADA service trained dogs are permitted and must be leashed. Pets and emotion support animals are not allowed.
Masks required inside and there are suggested paths for social distancing. Not sure if there is reduced capacity. When we went last month there were maybe 12 people there throughout the park.
Perfect place to take someone in a wheelchair. Beautiful plants and landscapes to see. Oh, and the parrots and flamingos! Walkways are wide enough for a wheelchair. Have fun! But bring your own water. Water bottles are available but very expensive.
No they don't permit outside food or drink in the park
No!
Only service dogs
Umbrella will allow you to stay and listen to the relaxing rain drops hitting the trees! I love it!
No scooter rentals available at the moment unfortunately.
What is the discount? Is it better than the 2 for 12.50 on groupon?
I imagine they would be ecstatic but you'll need to actually CALL them
Yes
I don't know for sure, but I didn't see anything at check in. No price list, no chairs queued up, no placard stating the availability. Hope that helps
Due to heath crisis birds are not on display at this time
Yes

Not sure. But, everything is outside. So, if the weather is not good, you probably wouldn't want to be there anyway.
Up stares
Not sure didnt see any but you can call them to see
I did not see those while there recently. No.
Yes
Yes! Definitely a great destination to capture photos.
Yes

I think I saw a sign about the bricks but also dont work there. I would call them directly.
I dont think they would be just because they would want to mark their territory on everything. You might want to give them a call.
There are nice park benches and a slew of picnic tables strategically placed in every little nook.
They can bloom year round but they are at heir prime in the Winter. Your timing was great!
From their website: Hours: Monday - Saturday: 10 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Sunday: Noon - 4:30 p.m. The last admission is sold at 4 p.m. daily.
No I don't think they did, it is smaller than most botanical gardens so I'd be surprised if they did
Unfortunately there are not scooters or wheelchairs for rent. While you are welcome to bring your own wheelchair, some of the pathways are not ADA accessible. These areas are well marked on the map they give you when you buy your tickets at the front desk.
You need to look up their facebook page or website. Not go through google.
No pets allowed. The walkways are slim to maximize the plant spaces. There's no space for pets to relieve themselves.

Sunken Gardens does not offer a birthday party package. We do however have a class room and reception room available to rent for events. Please call to inquire. The Great Explorations children’s museum is a separate entity and is not affiliated with the Sunken Gardens. We do however offer a single day general admission ticket to both locations for the day of purchase only.
Hi. I am an Employee at the Sunken Gardens and it’s service dogs only.
The Gardens began in 1903, when plumber and avid gardener George Turner Sr. purchased the site, including a shallow lake 10 feet (3.0 m) below sea level, which he drained to form his private "sunken" garden. In the 1920s, Turner had opened a nursery and began selling fruits, vegetables, roses and other plants, and visitors were paying a nickel each to stroll through the gardens. In the fall of 1935, he fenced his garden and started charging an admission fee of 25 cents. The Gardens eventually became widely popular, and from the 1950s through the 1970s were ranked among Florida’s top ten commercial attractions.
I don't actually work there but from my trip... They don't sell them but there are alot of local Gardens to buy from.... Or my orchids i normally get from home Depot
