Always great, until today. The new girl they hired is a jerk. I heard her speaking kindly to other customers but didn't think anything of it until I got to the register. Her whole attitude changed when I walked up. She didn't greet me and then mumbled the total of my order. I told her that I couldn't hear her, and she just stared at me. Then she handed me the receipt (barley) and went to walk away. I called her out on it, she was black and so am I! I don’t know what her problem was, but she obviously hates herself and I told her as much. I live here in West Hartford and go there often, but not anymore. And I don't want my teenage twin boys, who often hang out in town and go there often, to visit there again. She'd have a field day on them, since she obviously doesn't like her own kind. I'll go somewhere else...ugh!

Probably the only authentic Japanese place in Connecticut. It used to serve ramen and had a cafe before the pandemic. Been here many times and I park across the street at Whole Foods.

It’s ok. We went on a Saturday afternoon and there wasn’t much sushi available and that’s what we came for. Also $8 for a small tray of tuna avocado rolls, eh... Sorry but not worth it to me. The ramen looked good but not my personal go-to. I like the variety of products they carry. I picked up some chicken curry buns, and some gyozas, and instant boba for home. But you have to watch prices because it adds up very fast for what you get.

A lot of Japanese food, ingredients and goods to choose from, some I haven't seen since I was a child! Always great to stop by and grab some ramen as well! Prices are great as well. Edit: I've never had a dip in quality, friendliness or anything over the last 2 years or so. When trying ramen at many other places as well, I continue to come back here. I couldn't recommend Maruichi's enough!
