Was there ice climbing with a group, but nice easier winter hike with not much elevation gain. Easy going trail where microspikes are not needed. We did notice that someone had vandalized the signs and bathrooms at the entrance which is honestly sad. Great place overall and the frozen falls are an amazing sight even if you are not climbing them!

Gorgeous, moderate hike! The majority of it is an easy walk, but the last part to the falls is pretty steep with good rock "stairs".

A lesser traveled hike than the Sabbaday Falls but far more impressive if you want a great pic. Plan on hiking across 5 streams (by hopping across on large river rocks) and up some significant inclines including stone stairs to get to the prized photo opportunities. Others were right who told us, "It is worth it!" Hiking sticks seemed to be a popular accessory as the trail was quite wet due to its confluence with the area rain runoff. Nice to have a hike that is downhill on the second half.

It's quite a hike to get up to the falls but once you're there it's well worth it. The view of the falls and of the valley once you get up top of the waterfall are great! Loved it, but prepare yourself for a hike, it's not a leasurely as I had thought.

Yes it does, but you have to have it displayed in your car when you park.
The distance to the falls is 1.4 miles in. Nice easy hike to get there, not much for elevation gain. Should take you about an hour or so.
Very easy to follow. If you go all the way to the summit, you will have to follow cairns, which are plentiful, but you have to pay attention. Just going to the falls couldn't be easier.
I think there is a tent site not too far from the summit off one of the trails or you can stay in the Jim Liberty Cabin that's about 0.3mi off the summit. It has bunks with a lockable door, no charge/fee. Just keep in mind that others might stay. I stayed last Wednesday night with no other people.
Definitely not stroller friendly. It gets steeper near the falls and there are places you would need to lift a stroller up.
No sir. Champney Falls as I've hiked from the trailhead on the Kanc is only about 3 miles one-way. Better to see this falls in higher waters though! Its Definitely a one of a kind, hidden gem!
