Someone needs to get the Rangers a watch! The door sign as well as the website says they close at 4:30 pm. We arrived at 4:22 (on July 20) to get a map and it was closed! I banged on the door but the people inside wouldn’t look up and answer.

I stopped in today to pick up a Gold Panning Permit while I was in the area. The young lady who helped me was fantastic and also gave me info on where I can and can't prospect. There was also a neat little gift shop inside. I'll be back for the mini-bricks Smokey the Bear set soon. 🐻😁✌

Staff is always very friendly and you can get advice on hikes and current trail conditions based on the season

Oh so informative the Rangers are here! Being our first visit, we got a good overview of the routes and degree of difficulties of different hikes! We went on three of the recommended and loved them all! Thanks to the Rangers!
