Pixely Falls was nice, but not my full cup of tea. I enjoy trails that are good for hiking and cycling as well as to a swimming area like a lake. To me, this is a great place for a good cookout, or skilled hiking.

Great short hike with not just the main falls as the attraction, there were some side little waterfalls that were beautiful from the trail along the river!his! Not too crowded on the trail although it was a little loud and noisy in the picnic area with people playing their radios up very loudly. Not too far of a drive from where I live and had a very nice time!

Nice trails to walk along and enjoy nature. Check the online map first. There aren't any maps at the trailheads. Waterfalls are pretty. Trail can be muddy so bring boots. Poor cell phone reception so plan ahead if you need directions or are meeting up with others.

Bonus points because it's easy to access from the parking area and the other falls nearby are nice, but overall it's not the most impressive. Because it's easy access it gets crowded. There's "no swimming" signs posted, but that didn't stop anyone. You also are not supposed to access the top of the falls (lame) but yet when we were there someone had a hibachi grill and video cameras set up. Worth the pit stop, but wouldn't go back for a second visit.

Questions & Answers

Is it open October 15

Marco Cerasi | Jul 8, 2018
Mary Vivenzo | Jul 9, 2018

It should be open as it is a State Park, never closes. But no bathrooms will be open after Labor Day. That is mostly true for all NYS parks.
