Beautiful swimming hole. Keep in mind you do need a permit to swim. This limits the people in the hole and keeps the area clean and maintained. Four stars because there isn’t ample parking, making the walk to the hole long.

Beautiful place, ice cold water during the hot summer days was really refreshing. Visit the Waterfall just few minutes away from Blue Hole is a must! Not overcrowded during the weekdays. Oh, there is no signal, so don’t forget to download offline google maps. And be ready to be cut off the phone calls and messages👍

Awesome experience. The water is beyond cold. There should be more signs indicating where certain spots are. Not much parking

Beautiful place, hard to get to. Cool drive. Wasn't blue after a hard rain. I have several spots like this on my property. Except mine doesn't have a bunch of NYC families picnicking in the middle of it, making photos difficult. Or 20 Asians smoking various stuff and Stinking it up. I also included some pics of the garbage left by the (insert own slander) City people. So scummy. We see the same behavior from them in our small tourist town as well. Shameful. Still, it's worth the drive. As a HUGE side note, a Permit Is Required. But nobody was there to check anybody. The DEC could at least use that money to pay someone to pick up the trailheads and the stream and monitor the hole!?!?

Where can I obtain the permits to visit?
On the weekends not weekdays, you must sign on to reserveamerica.com and reserve a permit - it is free. You can only reserve 7 or 8 days in advance.
On leash only, must cleanup after them.
It is not reserved but trying to get there early for the parking lot are guys and some are far from the place
If you want to find parking you must arrive at 9:30 in the morning, because there is little space for parking
I called reserve America and park and got nowhere with the permit- it's a disaster
