In a word: stunning! The Half Moon Bay Golf Links, which are adjacent to the Ritz Carlton Hotel, are two of the most beautiful courses in the world. The “Ocean Course” sits to the left of the hotel, above the ocean, with Pacific Ocean views on one side and mountains on the other side- breathtaking beauty in all directions. The “Old Course” (not reviewed here) is less scenic. Both courses are 18 holes. While the views are world class, the weather can be fickle. It gets cold and a bit damp in the area, even on a summer day, so dress accordingly.

I prefer the Old course. Very relaxing, beautiful scenery and specially entering 17 and 18 hole. I would give it 5 star but I gave it 4 stars the rental clubs were expensive and rather than old.

Two excellent courses that are completely different. Ocean is links style with awesome view. Old meanders through some beautiful homes with great look and challenging holes. Play them both!

Played the Old Course for the first time today. What a gem. The staff were very friendly and the random group of guys I played with were great! The layout is tremendous, the conditioning is spectacular and the views are a sight to behold. Stated around 230pm and was finished by 630pm...apparently this is considered a slow round here, so be prepared to play ready golf. As others have noted, pack a sweater. The coast winds and marine layer can make things cool. Will absolutely be back to play the Ocean course.
