Compass is a church that has a lot going for it, but for all that it does have, it misses some really big things in my opinion. Compass doesn't let you rest in Christ. It's as if those in charge decided, "Hey people aren't taking Christianity seriously enough" So we need to make sure they always feel uncomfortable instead of who God is and what hes doing. I am NOT saying we shouldn't have conviction, but there is no true joy or rest in Christ in this environment. If you want to be inwardly focused and never feel like you are doing enough..(OR end up feeling very accomplished because you checked off all of the Compass check boxes in your daily life). go right ahead... Truth is we will never be "doing enough" until we die.. but the fuel we need for obedience, for being on fire for God is to focus on His promises and character JUST AS MUCH as the imperatives in the bible. Not 90/10 This is a glimpse of the gospel with a whole lot of performancism. The pastor wants you to know how much you should be taking notes, sitting close, coming more nights and have your bible... cutty remarks abound in the early service... Seriously were adults dude, those remarks don't help anyone. Those bulletins they hand out have blanks and they tell you what to write in... independent brain activity is shunned. Group think is big. Its culty. You will hear a history lesson, maybe a few sentences about God and then 30 minutes about what were doing wrong or how Christians should be... but not the one thing people need the most - equal time on God's nature and promises.

The Bible is taught explicitly here. If you want to find what Treasures there are this is the place to be if you live in the area or you can catch on line if not and enhance the teaching you are getting at your Home Church. The Staff along with people here are so welcoming and loving. The Pastors all are true Shepherds who care for the flock. The youth/college ministries are phenomenal and to see so many young people on fire for The Lord is so encouraging. I cannot say enough about CompassHB and all The Glory goes to God for the work He is doing through His Church here and His Church around the world. 🙌🏻

Cannot praise God enough for this church! The people are so passionate for the Lord and kind to all. The kids ministry, Jr. high, and high school ministries are all the best I’ve seen at any church. The teaching is passionate, and most importantly: biblical! Compass HB has been such a blessing to me and Jesus is working greatly through it!
