Made felt welcome at the front gate, and beautiful park, but the third slow-roll by the DNR officer while picnicking really changed the mood and we left soon thereafter. Protip: there's a SRA a little further down the road where you can be made to feel just as undesirable by DNR without paying for the privilege.

I host an annual boating and camping weekend here. While we're definitely a rowdy crowd, we do our best to be respectful after quiet time. I've looked for other sites and toyed with the idea of moving it to other parks, solely based on how far some of our campers drive for this event. At the end of the day, the staff are great, they stay on top of the showers and bathrooms and it's a beautiful place. Love the years we've spent coming here to boat and camp.

Beautiful and such an amazing place to hike. Great changes in elevation and the trails are pretty easy to follow. Pate Hollow trail is the main trail.

Nice sites and facilities. Water access from many sites and a beach plus biat ramp. Beautiful sunsets at the back of the park and sunrises over the beach. Just wish the staff could keep larger groups from getting so rowdy sometimes.

Thanks so you'd recommend Gerald's over getting it at the recreation Area?
Yeah, I don't think they'd say anything. Just make sure the little guys on a leash, most likely.
We do not have backpack campsites, if that's what you're looking for. We do have primitive sites where you have to park and then walk in 50 to 200 feet.
Not sure about that!
You can swim. I was just there on Sunday. I swam and so did 100 other people. You good
There is a dump station and water. There is a day use fee of $7 to all who enter the park.
Yes they should be
Yes you can, at some point the ropes will come down and there will not be any beach monitors on the beach. There were no life guards but a beach monitor to over see and contact security or 911. This should be the same at all of the state park beaches.
