Hi. You don't have to make an appointment to do a title transfer although there may be a line. The lines are not too bad at AAA and move fairly quickly. You will just need to have your paperwork filled out with the appropriate/necessary signatures. Once you check in at the front desk, you'll be directed to the DMV line for DMV transactions.
