Attended their July 4th celebration and became museum members! The GCVM is such a fantastic spot to spend the day. Their events are always well planned and executed and the grounds are delightful.

Great place to see America's past way of life. We need more of these living history places to remember our past and not tare them down. Great pace to bring all ages including a 3 year old and 83 year old grandpa. Grounds are well kept and the sense of history is awesome. Make the trek and keep an open mind and imagination. Plan on spending a around 3-4 hours to explore the grounds. Depending on program, there could be actors giving history of the different buildings are way of life for that area. If there are actors on the ground, add a hour or more to the day, which is well worth it.

Wow what a great experience this was. The museum curator was so knowledgeable, he spent a lot of time explaining the vast collection of 17th and 18th century clothing. They had actors in most of the buildings that could talk about the building, the owners, the occupation and anything else connected to the era. We had lunch on the grounds. Highly recommend a visit.

Excellent experience! Very knowledgeable actors are in most of the buildings giving rich history about the time period. Skilled workers show how things were made and done in the past. We have been going there every year since our children were little. They are now teenagers and still enjoyed every second! The baked goods are amazing! Highly recommended for all ages!! So much to see, do, and learn!

Will answered perfectly, but I would like to add that if you go and enjoy yourself and think you'd like to go back again another day, stop back to the office and ask about membership details. Your admission will count towards the cost of a membership, an excellent incentive to visit again.
Hi Eileen, we only went once, you will love this place, they make the cookies according to there recipe from those ages ago, as far as hours go, simply google the name and then you will have your answer. Best of luck!!!!
As much as possible. It can take all day if you want to see everything.
