Found an injured possum on the side of the road, looked pretty beat up but was still alert she had babies. I called the SPCA to have them treat the mother and take care of them. I got a call 2 days later telling me that they couldn't do anything so they killed the mom and the babies. Can you at least try to do your job and save animals?

I got a kitty at the middle of the year and by then I haven’t an idea what it means have a pest, so much thing to worry about and honesty very expensive, but I got the time to take care my kitty kitty Cleo and making a research I found this place, it’s a life saver!! Since the moments you walked in they make you feel great and you can tell how much they love the animals, the place it’s very affordable for ppl like me and help the county to control of the animals in the streets and the population of them too. Thank you so much

Great, clean facilities, amazing people! I brought my reactive puppy for a spay surgery today. The place is large enough that my puppy had enough space to sniff and not bothered by other dogs nearby. Staff were very accommodating and professional. The whole process is humane. I got to be in the exam room with my puppy, held her while she got a sedative shot, and brought her to the crate myself. Super recommended!

July 7th 2021 I found this stray dog while waiting on the bus. I was able to leash him using my sweater I called Animal Control and they said the wait time would be 18 hours. I don’t know how to drive so I was super bummed. I’m a huge animal lover so I Uber to the shelter. The dog was sweet friendly but scared. He was running loose with a Chi but the chi was aggressive and I only have one set of hands. When I got there they instructed me on how to put him in the drop off container. I would of liked a bit more help but I figured it out. I’m pretty anxious myself and a bit of a dummy I would of hated for him to get loose and get hit by a car near the freeway. I really hope he passes his temperament test and becomes available for adoption he’s only about 7 months or so. Sweet and friendly but SUPER scared. You can see his story on my IG #PupPup650

Sorry to hear. They can help you with this. We've enlisted our Vet in San Bruno who arranged the cremation when we lost a companion, but the shelter should handle it with respect too.
At Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA we don’t humanely euthanize an animal for space or time. We’ve had several dogs and other animals at our shelter sometimes wait many months, and even years until they are adopted. While an adoptable animal is waiting for his or her new home, we will continue to provide food, shelter, medical care and tender loving care no matter how long it takes for that animal to be adopted.
The best option is to volunteer. This way you have access to all pets.

Good afternoon, to vaccinate your puppy you can bring it to our low cost vaccination clinic. The clinic is held the first Wednesday of each month from 6-8pm. The vaccines cost $ 15 and the license $ 20 if your puppy is neutered; if it is not neutered the license costs $ 50. Here is a link with information in English about the clinic. https://phs-spca.org/vaccination-clinics/
Hi, we have vaccination clinics the first Wednesday of every month. Vaccinations are $15 and microchips are $30. Check it out here https://phs-spca.org/vaccination-clinics/
Yes, thanks for thinking of our animals. We can us clean towels and blankets (no sheets please). We are unable to use stuffed animals in the shelter because the stuffing clogs our drains, but if they are in almost new condition, we can sell them at our resale shop, The Pick of the Litter.
Hi Naomi, it is the first Wednesday of every month. More details here https://phs-spca.org/vaccination-clinics/
Hi Blanca, I'm so sorry about your dog. Try here https://phs-spca.org/euthanasia/ and also here https://phs-spca.org/grief/ Lisa
Unfortunately, no. It's a business phone not a cell phone.
Caltrans for highways, Animal Control for other public property
Only low cost Spay/Neuter and Vaccines, sorry! My personal recommendation is go outside of the bay area to find a vet, costs will still be high but not as significant.
Animal Rescue and Control will not come to take the cats unless they are already confined. There are services you can hire who can trap them for you, or you can rent traps from the SPCA to catch them yourself. At which point, you may call ARC or bring the cats to 12 Airport Boulevard in San Mateo.
Call Palo Alto Animal Services on East BayShore Road They can help you
Hi Edna, if you are interested in adopting a kitten, the best thing to do is come to our shelter to see if we have any or if there's another cat that interests you. Please arrive at least an hour before we close to give yourself enough time to go through the adoption process. Thanks! Lisa
