We are so happy with the service from the beginning of checking in with Maryann. She was so kind, understanding and accommodating with my daughter’s paperwork process and her testing instructor was so nice and put he at ease while taking the driving and she passed! Great experience all around!

I avoid the DMV as much as possible, but I had to get my realID drivers license. I went online and filled out the form, then made an appointment for the next day. There was no waiting in line at all. My number was called literally 5 seconds after I sat down. The entire process took 35 minutes. Everybody I interacted with was polite and in good moods. Wow!

This is a terrible place, don't ever come here! I've been to different DMVs -Van Nice, Glendale, but this is the worst - from the man in the window to the driving instructor. Waiting 2.5 hours after my appointment time is just a nightmare. During the exam, the instructor touched my steering wheel several times and interfered, said "drive faster" although there were speed limits ... I don't even know if you can think of a worse experience. And yes, you will not find a driver's guide in Russian in this department.

I need to make an appointment to get my ID for the first time for my daughter
There's a Stack of them on the Front Desk, where you can grab one. _ You probably do not need to wait in the Line.
Online its only for renew ID or License but not for replacement if you lost it you have to go to the office
What do I need to register a car on my name?
all you need here https://driversed.com/dmv/california/renewal-plates.aspx
Once you move to California, you must have a California driver's license. I would get the DMV handbook if I were you because you might have to take the written test.
Of course.
You will get service faster if you have an appointment but you can also walk in to renew license or to apply for original license
Hello. You don't exactly need an appointment but if you make an appointment it takes less time online.
Making an appointment is best, unless you have time to wait in line.
Ask for an extension by cloth line, give me a nose if you already did it
just copy of your any previous I.D or passport and $27 dollars no need police report
1. birth certificate 2. social security card 3. Proof of address of the mother who arrives at the post office 4. $ 30 for the ID Make the application in edlapp.dmv.ca.gov to get ready
I believe it was $21 when I got one. If the price has increased, I can't imagine it costing more than $30 now. You aske this a week ago; I imagine by now your inquiry has been sated. However, this information may be helpful to others.
Yes
Go and get it don't wait.... Later You will pay more
Not appointment needs
Yes you do plus 2 forms of proof of residency
Salvage car from NY needed: 1 Smog check 80$ 2. Light & brake sertification 80$ 3 cat scale weight sertificat 12$ 4 California fee ... Employees very good guys, answers for all questions. 👍👍👍👍 Michael from window [9 may 04 2022] best helper.
Go on line or walk in without an appointment...
You don't have to. But I would recommend to make an appointment in the morning. Or also if you are a AAA member you can do it over there as well.
Huh?
DMV california.org
That's a DMV question , they would better assist you.
No, they and most government operated offices are closed on all holidays.
Mine came in 2 weeks. Sounds like something is wrong.
You only need that kind of paperwork if she getting a Real ID. But if your trying to get here one of those then you need two copies of anything that she loves with you. SSI LETTER, disability, or something from Ebt that she gets. Anything that confirms that she lives at that location. Social security card, etc.
Go in 30 minutes early and Let them know
first check the DMV official website since COVID 19 many things can be done online
Yes. Use the internet.
You can also get registration, change license plates. They do not have decals for electric vehicles to use high-speed lane.
Make an appointment.
Ya, usually ID would require her to be there physically. Go on the DMV site and schedule an appointment it's way faster and safer than just walk in.
DMV.CA.GOV
5 days.
Yes absolutely. You don't want make line with this weather. Don't forget your face mask.
No but get one there and come back otherwise a line around the block
Take a appointment for real ID or DL ( doesn't matter), and tell them when you are in their office. Just appointment is important to visit dmv office
Call the DMV. Get number via their website.
You do not need an appointment but it would be a good idea to make one so as not to be on a long line of the walk in line unless you get there ahead of time for example at 5:45 am and then you might be in with the first dozen or so.
Debit Visa card or cash
Renew online. You can renew online even if you are over 65 now.
Right now they are not giving appointments you have to go in person take all your documents
Aslo by line in your cell and cloth send by mail or you can go in person
Take your wifes car, better be safe thsn sorry
Changed to next October 2021
Depending on her age, you can request a automatic extension on her license, as long as she has a valid license with no negative problems, And if she is over 70 , they will extend it for 1 year after the original expires, there are a lot of self service transactions you can do the n line, I know this.because my mother's license expired a few months ago, I applied for a extension, filled in some personal information, and her extension can via email in less that a minute.
Not sure, they have self-service machine's, lots can be done on line... It you go with out an appointment, promise you as they were telling people about noon.." you need to go to the end of the line, no guarantee you will get in today". In the 20 minutes and 5th in line, they did not allow anyone from the non appointment line in.... Suggest do was much as possible on line, and you might get a to a page that tell you to got to the appointment line and emails your appointment letter..
DMV.CA.GOV you can pay for a Duplicate license. You will get it in 2 weeks
Yes Fill out an application in the website at the end it will ask you do you want to participate in the DMV Express for Real ID, Select yes and upload your documents for Real ID walk I. with the code for Real ID Express and you can take the permit... At this time only with Real ID you can walk in without an appointment.
Only if you use DMV Express and load your documents along with the application then take docs to the office to apply for your Real ID, it's not a guarantee to get in but at least you get a chance.
No ,only emergency stuff or appointment or appointments , they will give it you like in 2-3 weeks to come back
Its closed cause of the curfew warnings , it says it's open but it's not, the ones open and close by are thousand oaks and arleta .
Answers are super easy. Go online take a couple of practice tests it's basic common sense like which way do you turn your wheels when parked up hill lol. If ya don't know that then don't drive lll
Phone calls are the worst . I'd honestly just go in to the office at 435pm right before they close the workers work magic right at closing time.
Yes $15 as long as there's nothing owed on the car if its family transfer... if non family it would be about $15
Why not? Yes you can
You have to take it there only
Between 8am-1400
If you want the RealID take your birth certificate and marriage license with your SSC and 2 forms of mail and get the REALID. Far as driving you can't use a ID to drive you need a DL for that
Depends are you an American Citizen or an illegal alien !?
Just do a walk-in just go early in the morning
You can walk in, but I'd do it first thing in the morning. If its just a permit / written test? Walk in at 4pm and be out by 5:45 the latest.
The question makes no sense... Plz retype the question because I don't understand how a title accumulate mileage
Take your car and the pink sip with you... other than that when you get there they'll tell you
You made it... how am I supposed to know???
You need to bring an identity document such as a certified copy of your birth certificate (either from the state or a U.S. territory. Don't bring something that says "certified abstract of birth"; they don't take those anymore due to federal law), proof of SSN such as an SSN card or a W-2 form like on a tax return, and two documents proving California residency (I like to use my tax return and voter registration card). More info on which documents are accepted are on the DMV website.
Mostly all DMVs take Debit. Some take credit, but I KNOW the Van Nuys location does NOT take credit. But the website takes both. If you wanna renew registration on credit online and get cash back for it, you totally can.
They do. Don't forget your documents. I believe they require two proofs of address on top of all the other documents
From my experiences, you take a written test (multiple choice on a touch screen when available), get your permit, and come back later for a driving test in which the instructor will specifically NOT talk to you outside of his instructions. If you're asking if there is some kind of accommodation for ppl that have to take the written test orally, somehow, I don't believe so.
Yes, as long as you don't solely rely on the camera when you do your test.
7 am - 5 pm every Monday-Friday. Except on Wednesday, they're open from 9 am - 5 pm.
Yes, and you don't have to stand in the line. There is a mashing that does that, just ask someone who works there where is it.
No fee for I'd, but $50 for license

Please visit website dmv.ca.gov you need to visit the office and bring documents 1. proof of identity- passport or Birth cert 2. Social Security Card 3. Two proof of residency - Bills

Business hours. Most offices are open from 8 am to 5 pm.
You can use the same picture unless you changed any info on your application (i.e., address, weight, height, hair color, etc.) that's when they need to take a new photo

No you don't have to make an appointment, but make sure you do it early enough in the day because they stop giving written test at 4:30
Go to edlapp.dmv.ca.gov if the website ask for a payment you're on the wrong website. Save the code they give you at the end and take it to the dmv and they can pull up your app from that code
The appointments aren't until January... you be better off just walking in as a non-appointment
How do I cancel an appointment

Man same exact thing happend to me. I just recived my I'd in the mail after 6 month. But I had to go in and pay a second time because my application expired like you said and I was made to pay again. I can not belive that the dmv can consistantly get away with this.

You can renew a DL online as long as it expires within 60 days. It is much faster online than walking in without an appointment, but yes, you can just walk in.
First check if your check was cashed then you should received your license three weeks after that. if you have not recieve it then go to DMV to renew your license. Check schedule, some of the offices are opening at 7 am and some of them on Saturday. Do Not put a stop on the check if they have not cashed your check.

Yes! Good luck 🙌🏽
If it is misspelled on the temporary DL, it will most likely be incorrect when they send you the permanent one. Try making an appointment now because the next available is usually 5 weeks away (you can always cancel it if you permanent DL comes in and is correct). As long as you bring in another valid form of ID to show that your name is misspelled on the DL, they are very accommodating and will reissue it with the correct spelling.
That happened to me — maybe because the System stored the transaction for human review during Office Hours (?)
you can't. You will have to wait until you come home
no payphones inside DMV in San Fernando Valley
Make an appointment ! if you walk in make sure you have your documents and and be ready to wait a last 2 to 3 hours from start to finish
Some parking tickets will show when paying for registration. Depending on moving violation some traffic tickets will be able to pay at DMV when getting your license renew

You would have to go in and see if you can apply for one. Might have fees, just verys in cases but they can help you with that.
