It’s a boat ramp, not much more to say about it. Can be as wide as 5 cars or as narrow as 3 cars. Open 24/7/365

Lake Sonoma Public Boat launch was the perfect entry for a beautiful weekend on the lake. We will be back very soon. It is a very long walk down once you drop off your gear and take your vehicle to the parking lot. The lake is very low. May 2021

Need a dock supervisor on weekends and holidays. Only room for 4 or 5 boats on the small dock. I've seen boats tied up, read blocking others from using, with no owner around for hours. Also need to keep people from detailing their boat on the ramp after pulling out. Pull it all the way up to the parking lot , it's the rules.

Lake Sonoma is a must see location when visiting Sonoma County. The lookout point, scenic drive and lake make it worth the trip... go to Yorty Creek if you want a real beach and swimming area though.

You can do it. But, I highly recommend going there beforehand to make sure your party is ready for the hike up from the water to the campsites.
The lake is currently at 57% capacity as of 5/26/22, which is only a little lower than this time last year. On Monday the 30th the ramp was about 4 car lanes wide for launching your vessel, kayaks will be a piece of cake. The ramp is about 1/4 mile from the top down to the water so be prepared for a good uphill hike after your day. Make sure you go to the public boat ramp and not the marina. The ramp at the marina has been about 20-30 feet above the water all year making it unusable.
Yeah on the R) side of the boat launch you totally could!
Yes parking overnight no problem. You cannot camp in your car or RV in the lot at Sonoma. Be sure to pay for parking and don't park in a spot for boat trailers unless you have a trailer.
There really is no hours. Its open to the public 24 hours a day. 7 days a week.
