My son had been putting off his house remodel until he couldn’t anymore. I helped him to shop around for a good construction company in LA, and boy are we glad we found GCLA! In the initial discussion we had, they allayed all our fears. The team at GCLA is quite experienced and they delivered a wonderful home remodel, I am considering doing my own soon.

My property in Santa Monica really needed new flooring. After comparing a few contractors offering residential services I settled on GCLA. They are now my general contractor company of choice in Santa Monica.

I'm just so impressed with these guys and the way the whole process went. Every step was clearly communicated. Professional all around, the job was done right! I give them my highest recommendation.

Questions & Answers

My wife and I are looking to spruce up our driveway. At the moment we are torn between concrete pavers, asphalt, and stamped concrete. What’s your professional advice?

A good driveway is critical for your property’s curb appeal, value, and functionality. All of the three options you have mentioned are great ideas. Any one of them can serve the aforementioned goals. The most important thing is that the installation is carried out professionally using the right materials. The subtle differences are that pavers are easy to install or take out. Asphalt is permanent and very reliable. It also looks great. Stamped concrete is also easy to install and offers tens of design options.

The kids’ bathroom in our house is a bit worn down and needs an upgrade. In order to cut on costs we were thinking of just re-grouting the walls and floor. Is this feasible?

Remodels can sometime take more out of the budget than expected. Bathrooms, too, can gobble up cash even though they’re just tiny spaces. Re-grouting is a possibility. And it is feasible. However, we only advise re-grouting when the area to be worked on is small, e.g. a few tiles. In your case it sounds like you may want to change the floor and walls tiles completely. Of course, it is important that we have a look at the space in question and discuss your needs for us to better advise you on what will work best. You can send us a few photos or even invite us for a site visit.

Now that our kids are all grown up and out of the house we would like to make some major changes to the property. We want to make the house our own and turn two of the bedrooms into a craft studio and a gym. Can you help?

That sounds like an interesting idea. Older homeowners often struggle with their family homes once the children have all moved out. Converting the place into a more comfortable space could be a better option compared to selling. And you sound like you have some great ideas. We can help you make the changes you have described. Converting the bedrooms is very doable. We can install larger windows into the studio and gyms to allow more natural light and to help with daytime electrical bills. We can also help with other changes such as kitchen remodeling, bathroom remodeling, and refreshing the master suite and closet.

We need to remodel our master bedroom including the bathroom and closet. Can you provide a quote?

My salon has been getting eclipsed by the competition. The shops opening up around me are all new and swanky and I need to match the same. Can you refurbish my place and install modern fittings?

Sorry for getting beat by the competition. It must have been a while since you gave your place a face-lift. Doing so will surely help you manage better with all the competition. We can help you re-brand your space. This will give your salon a new look, a new feel, and a revamped direction in its mandate. We can change up the flooring and walls, lighting, install new storage spaces, install new comfy seating furniture, install some art pieces for the ambiance, upgrade the plumbing system and faucets, and even install attractive signage to attract new customers. Talk to us some more if you’d like to discuss these and many more options.

We are looking to buy a vacant lot in LA county and build our dream home. If we chose to work with you what would the entire process look like in brief? Looking forward to your feedback.

Self-builds are very rewarding even though they can be intimidating to most people. We applaud you for taking the road less-travelled in order to make your dreams come true. I’m sure you’ll be most pleased with what you’ll achieve in the end. GCLA can manage your project from start to finish. With us as your building partners you’ll feel at peace knowing that every detail and need is being taken care of as you’d wish. Our process would include initial consultation meetings, discussing building plans, budgets, materials, and project timetables, followed by the actual construction phases, inspections, finishing, and finally a handover.
