After several years of taking prescribed clonazepam I lost myself, I started drinking and eventually became extremely depressed to the point of hopelessness. I knew I needed help to get my life my back! In GA I had two bad facility experiences before I found The Ho Tai Way. After speaking with Mikel and Dr. Gupta on the phone, I knew they truly cared about my recovery and well being. With that said, two days later I flew across the country to detox and commit to the 30 day residential program. I was terrified to travel but Mikel maintained consistent communication with me until he picked me up from the airport. When I arrived at Ho Tai Way I was welcomed by the caring intake staff and on duty technicians. The home is sanitized, clean, and cozy. They made sure I fully understood the program outline and was settled in safely and comfortable with my new surroundings. It is peaceful and filled with compassion, from the Koi pond to the flower baskets. The therapy sessions with Megan are wonderful, she is very insightful and patient. Dr. Gupta and staff are amazing. They truly live by their mission "What do you need?" They have several forms of therapy to help get you well. Dr. Gupta is hands on and always available night or day! I have my life back and made authentic relationships that I will have for life. Thank you!

My experience with the ho tai way was uncomfortable at first but eventually I got into the routine of being uncomfortable. I am glad I came to the ho tai because they taught me that growth is outside of your comfort zone. They taught me so much about what healthy boundaries look like, how to participate in and advocate for my own life, and how to verbalize my needs. Since being at the ho tai, I learned what it means to be vulnerable when it comes to expressing myself and my story. Everyday, we started out with a group that set our intentions for the day and allowed us to plan out our day. I am so grateful for this place and the staff for helping me start this journey of sobriety. While in treatment here I found out about my best friend dying of an overdose and Dr. Gupta and Brea were very helpful in helping me feel my feelings without judging the emotions or myself. They helped to create a safe space for me to feel and process that loss which was hard for me to deal with. Overall, my experience at the ho tai was amazing and I would recommend any woman seeking treatment to start (or in my case, end) their journey in sobriety here. Thank you guys for going above and beyond to help me and everyone else that was there with me.

This place saved my life. It’s the most intimate, intense yet gentle, peaceful, loving inspiring place you could ever dream to get sober at. The staff, doctors, and therapists are so wise and the intimate setting allows therapy to be individualized. The setting is peaceful, clean, and has an easy vibe- but they will push you to grow. I couldn’t be more grateful to have landed at the Ho Tai Way. If you are considering recovery- this is where you want to go. Take it from this hopeless alcoholic who is happy and sober today.

Hands down the best place ever to go for treatment! If you really want to be able to work on yourself with no distractions this is the place to go! You get to feel safe, wanted, loved, and cared about here, there is nothing but genuine people all around you who do really care and want you to get better. Had it not been for the Ho Tai Way I wouldn't be where I am today. I found myself and I found my purpose and for that I am forever grateful to the amazing staff at this place. I love myself and life today and I can say that with 100% honesty. Thank you Serena, Mikel, and Dylan had it not been for you guys I don't know where I would be today! You never give up! ❤️ The intimate groups and amazing staff helped me to realize who I was and how strong I am. I realized my purpose and full potential. In the mornings we do 10 things we are grateful for, 3 affirmations about ourself, an emotional/recovery need, and a goal for the day; followed by a 15 minute meditation and yoga. The morning group helped me tremendously all on its own. I had tons of trauma and their trauma based groups helped me in sooo many ways with that. The Ho Tai Way is a place to find safety and find yourself I will forever love this place!

Roman Smith | Aug 23, 2019
The Ho Tai Way Alcohol & Drug Rehab Costa Mesa | Aug 23, 2019

Hi Roman as women are biologically different from men and progress a lost faster from first use (of drugs and alcohol) to dependence, they have a more severe medical and clinical profile. Also, a lot of women have extra responsibilities of taking care of their families, children that hinders going to treatment. So women need an increased frequency and intensity of medical and clinical services addressing their trauma and other underlying issues along with addiction. As well as additional support regarding childcare needs so they are able to seek and complete their treatment .
