1st time in this store. I was searching for a few items that I haven't been able to find in CT. I was lucky to find some of my favorite things. The cashier was nice and helpful. Had some of the hard to find fruits as well. Jackfruit and durian. Next trip back to STL deserves another visit.

A great assortment of Asian and some Mexican ingredients and spices as well as live, fresh and frozen fish in a multitude of varieties. Prices on some things are good and as with all grocery stores, some not so good. But if you're looking for some of those harder to find ingredients you may want to give this place a check.

Decent array of international grocery items from Jackfruit, rambutan, fresh seafood, vegetables, coffees, snacks & more. Service is ok, plenty of parking and conveniently located off HWY 55 & S. Broadway.

I visited the Universal Food Market a few days ago looking for seaweed sheets that I've purchased from here in the past. I didn't find the product here on my visit, but I still wanted to provide a review of my shopping experience. The Staff wasn't very friendly or helpful and this wasn't my first time feeling this way. It could be due to language barriers, but for whatever reason, they're never active with customers. Unless it has a photo included on the products or you know the language, you are stuck not knowing what anything is because it's in another language. On my visits I have to pull out my cell phone and look up the names on the packages when I don't recognize what it is especially the fresh produce and meats/fish. It would be helpful for those that don't know the language that some of the items have American names or at least a section name. They do have fresh fish and seafood that's available and living in tanks or containers in the meat section. These were labeled with names one could recognize. Beware of purchasing items from this market that are molded and/or outdated. Check the expiration date on everything that you're looking to purchase. In the produce section there are handwritten signs that say 'if you touch the produce, you have to purchase it.' Also at the register if you spend less than $10 on a debit card you are charged a convenience fee. On a positive note, this market does have ample parking.

Yes, they do.
No. Go to Diana's bakery on Cherokee street. She has homemade tamales. They are delicious!
