Fern Dell is absolutely gorgeous - it is such a nice calming, shady, lush location to walk around and get a break from the hustle and bustle of LA. There are mini waterfalls, fish, turtles and birds. Parking is free and is either on the street side or there areparking spots near the trailhead, The Trails Cafe. Near the Trails cafe/playground there are portable toilets. From here there is easy access to the Observatory via hiking or driving.

Great place to take the kids. Its FREE! Nice place to cool off when its hot. The lower trail has a nice stream with fish, crawdads, frogs and plants. The park side has plenty of places to have a picnic. Playgrounds and BBQ spots a little bit up the hill. Farther up is where you can hike all the way to Griffith Observatory. Lots of street parking until its busy and it gets really busy. Not many places with water features in LA, this is one of the best.

A good trail for someone wanting to get back into hiking after a long break. Starts off very easy and progressively gets a little bit harder, nothing strenuous, but just enough to get your heart pumping. Beautiful views all the way, though no shade so pick your time correctly. There are water fountains at the Observatory. There is a nice viewing platform about 5 minutes before you get to the Observatory that has great views of LA and on a clear day, after the rain you can see all the way to the ocean. Wear hiking shoes because the trail is gravelly and you could slip, twist your ankle or worse your knee on the way down. Trust me, you don't want that. Have a beautiful hike and leave no trace, stay on the path! Please click the 👍🏾if you liked this review and follow me for more reviews! Thank you.

It's a pretty nice park, however it barely has any ferns. A quiet place, has a few benches, a small stream running through.

Yes, there is a curb at the beginning. Not sure if the curb is cut for a wheelchair. But the rest of the trail is paved and Fairly Flat, except at the top end.
On ferndale dr., or even there are spaces on Los Feliz ave.
Yes, you may
Close at sundown open sun up got to get there early cuz parking goes fast
Go early. Busy on weekends. Steet parking is nearby and EZ if you're lucky.
The trails cafe closes at 2pm
It gets crowded, I wouldn't bike there with kids
There are no stairs and there are smooth ramps over the stream Crossings. So technically yes. But it's mostly a decomposed Granite surface. If it has been raining, it will be a slushy muddy ride. Sometimes there are puddles.
Yes. Western Avenue. If you take Western all the way to its furthest point North it makes a right hand turn and becomes Los Feliz Boulevard. You only have to travel a hundred yards on Los Feliz Boulevard and then there is the entrance to Fern Dell.
