Went fishing for trout but didn't catch any. Went on a weekday morning. Good place to get your daily walk. Not too many people.

Such a great park to take family photos! It was very crowded the day I took these photos of this beautiful family, but we managed to find the perfect locations with greenery and without anybody in the background.

This park is easily a hidden gem in the middle of LA. Found nestled in between the oil fields of central LA, thus park offers free weekday and Sunday parking as well as many different ecosystems. From large grassy fields to a flowing stream into a geese and duck filled pond, you’re sure to find many different nature activities in the middle of the hustle and bustle. It’s quiet but can get crowded. There are playgrounds and bathrooms, and easily make any day you plan to visit a nice chance to reflect around you.

Park is dog friendly. Nice place to take a walk and watch the ducks in the pond.

No you don't need a license to fish at Kenneth Hahn park.
There are jogging paths and trails all over the park, either the lower area or the upper area, and plenty of trails connecting both areas. Workout areas are mostly at the top, but currently closed.
Yes you need a license to fish here. Whether or not the sheriff or game Warden are checking on peoples from fishing license status is another story. Many people come here to fish, most do not have a license. In my years of fishing at Kenneth Hann I've never been asked by a sheriff or seen a game Warden checking for licenses.
I'm pretty sure you may. I've taken a hammock and it's ok.
