Had an absolute terrible experience at Penmar… Walked up to the starters office to be belittled and mocked by the starter. Politely asked to take a walk in and to put our names down for the next availability and he proceeded to be an absolute jerk to us again. 0/10 experience.. never going back.

Nice course. Good mix of 3s and 4s. Decent condition. Nice restaurant too.

Rose Ave Venice, CA Penmar golf course welcome to the newest westside skid row. Across the street from this huge every growing encampment surrounding this course are $1.5+ million dollar homes. Neither Penmar golf course, LAPD or city councilman/governments are doing anything to house these homeless people, residents have to deal with this everyday, mentally ill, alcoholics, drug addicts and or combination of all. I stopped playing golf at Penmar over 3 months ago, playing surrounded by this environment doesn’t interest me.

Penmar is one of those few legendarily cheap, and incredibly fun golf courses scattered across the country. If you’ve been to one, you know what I’m talking about. The course is underrated— the greens are well maintained, and most importantly, the food. Ladies and gentlemen, the food is AMAZING. The chef in the cafe has been in the local newspapers numerous times for his famous pancakes. Be sure to order one, or 6. Enjoy!
