Maybe the glaze was not 04, maybe cone 5/6. Perhaps the bisque had been fired at a higher temperature than cone 04/05 and it was not absorbing the glaze. Maybe the bisque was sanded and not cleaned before putting the glaze on.
Yes they custom make the material. The employees and product are great. The in store customers are very odd.
No but try the art supply warhouse in HB, on Westminster. Again this is the best place to go. Jesso less than 7$ a gallon. And they or you can make the frames, etc.
LAGUNA clay does for sure
Yes. You can rehydrate old glaze. Add hot water to it, then wait for the glaze to absorb it. Add more until you get the consistency you want.
Probably not. Have student wash off the glaze, let thr piece dry then bisque fire
