We came in with a 30’ class C RV. My biggest criticism is the state of the campground circle road... MANY deep holes. It would take only a couple of hours labor & a truckload of gravel and sand to fix the problem. There is water - not sure if it’s potable. There are bathrooms - clean enough. Nice views all around. There was possibly a homeless/mentally ill lady at one of the higher number campsites who woke us up both nights around 4am screaming all sorts of profanities at the top of her lungs.

Check the weather before you come. I picked both a hot and windy set of days to camp, so it wasn't ideal, but that's not the campground's fault, is it? There are 19 sites and no camp host, so it's first-come, first served. Bring a sheet protector and a zip tie to secure your payment receipt to your camp site post. Most of the sites are well-spaced but with little-to-no shade. The water spigots worked, the bathrooms were OK, and the unpaved road through camp was passable with high clearance, but low-clearance vehicles might have struggled with the deep ruts in a couple of places. Most of my neighbors were quiet and kept to themselves, but I did have a group of early-20-somethings come in at 2am to set up camp. That's the problem with camping in easily-accessible campgrounds. :(

Pinyon Flat Campground located in The Santa Rosa and San Jacinto National Monument is a great location to spend some time visiting or camping surrounded by a very scenic environment and to get away from it all! The campground has individual parking for 1 or 2 vehicles each with its own wooden table and bench and fire pit. There is potable "drinking" water faucets and pit toilets as well. Pack in what you need in your car,RV,motorcycle or trailer because there no stores for about 30 minutes each way. The best part is that you are surrounded by pinyon trees, mountains and calm! Located off of I-10 on the way to Palm Springs,California. At Beaumont take Rte 79 South to Hemet and go east on Rte 74 to Pinyon Flats. From Banning take Rte 243 to Rte to Route 74 to Pinyon Flats Campground. . . . . #pinyonflatcampground #ilovethedesert #ilovecamping #photoops #takesomepictures #route74 #route243 #banning #beaumont #hemet #palmstopines #socaldrives #waynesalvatti #greatdrives #socaladventures #huellhowser #palmdesert #palmsprings #getoutthere #pittoilets #waterspigots #camping #visitthedesert #jthavn #route10 #morongo #familyadventures #quietplaces #bringyourcamera #IG

Great place. Rather empty. Running water at the couple of spigots around the loop. Nice star gazing! Perfect for a relaxing, secluded getaway.

There is a satellite museum off of el Paseo in Palm Desert (25 min) and the actual palm springs museum is 45-50 minutes from the campground

$8.00 per night, plus $5 for additional vehicles.... I.e. $13 if you have 2 vehicles. Half off for holders of golden age / senior passes.
