Hurkey Creek is a nice location, but is not the best camping. It is affordably priced, but that comes at a cost. We were there Friday night, and the noise level was extremely loud throughout the night. Several camps were playing music until almost midnight, and starting at 11:30 pm at night, about a dozen children supervised by an adult stormed down to the playground and proceeded to continually acream for half an hour playing until I had to ask them to stop. Even then, they did not respect the quiet hours and continued to make noise. The camp hosts did nothing about the noise, but were nice enough to refund our second night after we found a different campsite to stay at Saturday .

Came out to check out Hurkey creek and Apple Canyon. There are 3 spots on Apple Canyon you can camp for free so I wanted to come see what the area looked like.

Took my daughters to Hurkey Creek camp grounds for a over night camping trip. It’s about a 2 hour trip from Carlsbad to the camp grounds. We stayed the night of 11/09/19, temperatures during the day was 70 and at night was 36. The camp grounds are very clean along with the bathrooms. Keep in mind that there were no wood burning fires allowed at this time. We used our propane fire pit to keep warm. This rule will go away after the first rain of the season. We were tent camping and had a very relaxing stay. Out of the 100 plus camp sites there were only 30 or so being used when we were there. The morning was freezing in our tent and we turned on our propane heater to get rid of the chill.

Really nice regional park. Spent 3 nights tent camping with 3 little kids. Nice open space with beautiful trees. Having a playground for the kids was a great hit. The park rangers Kim and Dave were very helpful. Hot showers were nice, however, in the cold weather the first minute was cold water. Great park close to home

In the bathrooms. I usually bring a solar panel for charging stuff.
$25/nite and Yes, tents are permitted. Dry camping at it's finest! Hope this helps 🤙🏼
Lol, the answer is no, I have T-mobile and nothing at all but my family who had Verizon worked just fine... go figure. Hope this helps.
Yes. But no hook-ups...
Yes, there is lots of room for a piñata, and even more on your campsite......have fun!
Yes as long as they are on a leash
The park is under Riverside county jurisdiction
There is potable water at the campground to fill an RV. Not sure about the dump station. There is one at Lake Hemet campground though. About another 1.5 miles down the 74E.
no creek is too small and there is no fish, u can go fish in lake hemet with is a cross road
When I was there the bathrooms where open and cleaned daily. The showers where open they are just coin operated.
That will depend on the conditions while you are up there. It's starting to get hot and that means it could possibly start getting to dry up there for camp fires. The rangers will let you know.
I don't know. Check their website. There are no fires allowed right now.
