Taxation is theft. These greedy politicians will tax you out of house and home and then mismanage and embezzle your money while they live like fat cats. Disgusting leaches of society
Suzi Ramsdell
I have a home in SD County that I rent out. I am not a property management company with many properties, I have one house, so I am not seeking a massive relief. I do not qualify for the COVID 19 benefit to pay taxes late without penalty because I do not occupy the house. Further, the "benefit" states that you must send a check with your request for cancellation of any penalties. Seriously? If a person could not pay the tax by the required date because they were suffering financially due to COVID 19, why would the Treasurer think that the money would be available to pay the tax when the waiver was being requested. So bogus. They should be giving people a delay to pay the taxes with no penalties.

They are terrible and awful. My property tax goes Up, every single year. Yes, you Can increase taxes ‘up to’ 2 per cent per year, But that doesn’t mean you HAVE To
Anne Parish
I want to send out a big "thank you" to Mr.Todd McCraken. He spent almost 45 minutes today explaining the perimeters of a property that is historical designated and eligible for a Mills Act contract. Both he and the Office of Historic Resources (Jody Brown) have been both friendly and clear with the guidelines and resources for tax and residential home value, and restrictions. San Diego is fortunate to have these competent and thoughtful persons to guide the residents of San Diego.

The Disabled Veteran’s Exemption program will not freeze your property tax amount. Per Proposition 13, the assessed value on your property may increase by no more than 2% every year, which means that the property tax amount will increase slightly every year. Through the Disabled Veteran’s program, the exemption amount is adjusted annually due to inflation. For more information regarding the Disabled Veteran’s Exemption, please visit the Assessor’s website at https://arcc.sdcounty.ca.gov/Pages/property-tax.aspx#disabled-veterans-exemptions.

Hi Arlette, are you located outside of the United States? Sometimes, international traffic is blocked, though we are working on it. Please call 1-877-829-4732 if you are still having issues.
We are aware that a few taxpayers have received duplicate tax bills. We are investigating the matter. One of the bills may be misaligned or has smudges. As long as the parcel/bill numbers and amounts on the two bills are identical, you may shred one of them. We apologize for the confusion.
If a payment is mailed in the return envelope provided with the bill, it will be processed through the automated process as soon as we receive it. Other envelopes require special handling by a person; therefore, it may take up to 6 weeks for your payment to be processed. We are receiving thousands of payments per day at this point. We appreciate your patience. Please do not put a stop payment on the check as it will result in additional tax collector fees. The payment will be credited as of the date received or U.S. Postmarked. If the check has not cleared after 6 weeks, please submit a Request for Cancellation of Penalties based on a lost check. You may find the form on our website at https://www.sdttc.com/content/ttc/en/tax-collection/forms.html. The fastest way to pay is through our online payment system at www.sdttc.com.
