Meh. This park has bad vibes. About 6-7 professional walkers were there (the preachy kind that like to approach with unsolicited advice) and each had a herd of dogs yet NONE of the dogs played. Yep: 50+ dogs and not a single one at play. And $7 for parking? Boo. Wood chips and dirt terrain is acceptable but for $7 there are better alternatives. We stayed 5 minutes and left. Just. Ew.

Half a block north of Barrington Recreation Center, here’s more tree lined open space to play baseball, soccer and do whatever within reason! A park for people and dogs, there’s also an enclosed dog run at the lower end of the parking lot allowing space for dog walkers and apartment dwellers to go with fun loving pets! The park is on land from the north end of the VA Center and includes a tribute to our military services. There’s paid parking spaces available and temporary street-side bus staging as permitted, with drivers in attendance. A locked portable toilet may be available for team use and paid parking user’s. Otherwise, public restrooms are available during operating hours at the nearby Barrington Recreation Center, just steps away.

First of all wow the stench at this park is unique. By the way it looks I’m guessing it’s barely maintained by groundskeeper which is confusing since they’ve implemented a ridiculous parking fee. Would love to know why none of that parking fee profit goes towards the upkeep.

They started charging for parking at this park, which is owned by the VA but maintained and funded by LA Parks and Recs through LA taxes. Parking comes out to 7/hour for use of an all-dirt dog park, which the VA makes money on even though taxpayers are maintaining the park.

Good question. I just saw this today. I wonder if it is an event today.
