A random discovery while we were looking for places to go to in downtown LA. Well-curated collection of new and old books. Be patient enough to walk till the last row on the top floor, which has books for one dollar each. Also checkout the special sections for various topics from horror to music. A great collection of photography books too. Also worth a visit to savour the shop's interior design and arrangement of books

This book store has an amazing collection of books. Theme decorated throughout. There's also art displayed from different artists, a gift shop store with vintage items, fun art and gift souvenirs. The layout helps visitors take beautiful pictures. Unique design. There's many areas to sit and enjoy a book. I noticed that there's options to buy, sell, or trade books. I loved this unique store.

This is probably my favorite place in all of LA. I came here on a visit from Atlanta & didn’t want to come out of the store. There’s so much variety & the setup of all of the books is soooo cool! They also have shops on the top floor that support local artists & their merchandise is AMAZING. I couldn’t believe how many books I walked out of the store with. Such a great experience & definitely plan to visit again.

As an artist you wanna paint in space you feel zen . Zen to every artist is different. This is my first collaboration 🖤we as individuals are artists . Together as a couple it is the most beautiful goal to accomplish of creating art together. To me I felt the book store was going to be the solution and it was until we went to paint at LA library because the book store we couldn’t find parking the second time . The first time we went we said let’s come back here to paint . So excited and looking forward then circling around couldn’t find parking on a different occasion so we went to paint at the nearby library and the art book level was where we belonged ❤️

Pro tip ; check online eBay Amazon for typical sale prices not asking prices of the books that you wish to sell. * and remember they need to make a profit so I wouldn't expect more than 30% of recent sale prices online .
There is a huge area on the first floor for kids of all ages with brand new books, gently used books and classic vintage books.
Yes there are children's books, both new and used. If there is a specific title you are looking for, I suggest calling them.
If they are in good condition, it is very likely that they will
What language do you speak?
Yes! Just please be prepared with any supplies you need to clean up after your animal if it has an accident. Also, if it causes a disturbance or bothers other customers, you may be asked to take it outside.
Regular business hours. 10am to 10pm, or 11pm Fri/Sat.
We do! http://lastbookstorela.com/#sell
I'm sorry, not sure if they do.
I would venture to say they seem privately owned, and may keep their own hours. Because I've been there and seen one open while another is not.
Pershing square station. It's like 2 blocks away. Very short walk.
Yes but most of the second floor is full of narrow and winding walkways that are often crowded.
Public parking structure under Pershing Square.
I don't think so . Is just book and art stuff onvthe second floor .dont see any cards ..
Yes, we have Manga downstairs in Secret Headquarters Dungeon Dungeon and also upstairs in the "Danger Room" off of the Sci-Fi/Fantasy section. Used and new!
If you ask, thy shall receive 😁
Hello Maria, Generally our staff are only going to ask someone to leave upon suspicion of shoplifting or damage or disorganization of books or other disruptive behavior, or if someone was previously banned for such. If none of that was the case then we are sorry that happened! Please email us at the main email on our website with the exact date and time and location in the store when this occurred, and any other relevant information so we can look at the security cameras and research it.
Yes they are still in business but have limited staff. The staff were probably helping patrons inside the store. Very unique bookstore a must see if your a book enthusiast 👍
We did carry it but it has been out of print for some time so we don't currently have a copy.
This is a good question and Google maps should have a number but with more cell phones, landlines are less observed and answered
Everyone eear masks., customers and help. Gloves are worn by the help.. There is hand sanitizer for everyone. Everyone wears masks.
We certainly have Used copies from time to time (and may at the moment -- you'd have to call and ask). We also carry it New, although we're out of stock and will have more in Tue or Wed.
We aren't familiar with that. Who is the author?
Not in small lot next to store. But I have seen people take bike inside and leave at the buy/sell desk. I have also seen patrons park bike in the lobby entrance leading to that desk.
Yes they are open Easter Sunday.
We don't usually but occasionally might have one -- best to call or just stop in to check.
It could range from $1 to $100, just depending on what it is! Most are in the $1-30 range that most LPs cost, depending on if they're used or new.
Yes but not many
Yes
You can but they're like GameStop. Even their staff know it's a scam
Yes, if the boxes are in good shape and the CDs are not scratched at all. We are also selective based on the type of books and authors, same as we are with regular books.
Of course! They have any book you can think of. 100% recommend this place
At least an hour, if you won't be browsing for books.
Google them they have a website
Google them they have a website and a phone number. Lastbookstorela.com
Idk but I know the help desk is happy to locate a book for you.
The used books are cheaper, and the new books are regular sticker price. They have vinyl records for a dollar.
There is a huge variety of books, any of them are really cheap! I got a vintage Stephen King hardcover for 8 dollars!
Call them. It is not clear on their website if they are open on holidays.
Thanksgiving Day is Thursday 2018.11.22
Yes we are open then. We close early at 6pm on 12/24. We are closed 12/25 and 1/1.
You have to check bags at the door before you go in, they will give you a ticket so you can collect on your way out
If we need them. We're most likely to buy sealed, out of print, indie, foreign, or otherwise uncommon ones in excellent shape with no scratches. We don't generally need any common blockbuster DVDs or TV shows unless recent or brand new.
Yes a lot
Yes, we carry books in Spanish, Italian, German, French, Russian, and sometimes Japanese, Chinese, and Korean. They're all upstairs in the Foreign Language section. We also have kids books in Spanish downstairs in the kids section.
In our store. You just have to ask staff and leave your ID in exchange for the key.
No air condition unfortunately. There are a lot of fans but upstairs can get warm.
Its a book store with hundreds of thousands of books. It probably makes more sense to contact them directly for specific titles or authors.
The best way to get this information is to call them! They have quite an extensive collection on a wide variety of subjects.
There is a seating area with sofa seats where you can sit and read
Stop in or call the store
They had a live band when we were there. I would ask
They will will look up who the know that wants that book. Then they get double and offer you a third.
There is a section that is all business. You may want to check with then directly for anything specific.
You can buy books online, but not vinyl records.
Perhaps, but probably too expensive for the books they offer. However, may be able to recommend a collector of rare books to contact. Definitely worth a try, good luck.
Unless you are going to buy anything, yes its free. Chances are you will walk out with something purchased.
Awesome place, a must go.
Artists have their own schedule. Usually gone by 5, but the floor itself is open whenever the book store is open
Yes, but the used section is no cataloged so you'd have to search the shelves.
No, they do ask you to check any bags you have with you at the door though
Good question... I think they might. They are big bookstore.
They do have foreign languages books at the second floor. If they are old editions, not really sure about it.
Yes. Look in the fiction section.
They carry him upstairs in the sci-fi section and in the vault.
