Bekins overall is a great moving company. I have used them twice for in state moves in California. Unfortunately I have learned from my latest move they are not so awesome when it comes to filing a claim. My grandmother's piano, a family heirloom, was badly damaged during our move along with some other discovered incidentals. We documented this with our movers the day of the move. They did not have a claim form with them and then told us to call Bekins to file our claim. We did so by contacting our sales manager along with leaving a note with customer service twice. We purchased insurance understanding that things happen. But when a company does not stand by its product or word this is not OK. Very disappointed and will be making moves to address this situation further.

My neighbors down the street were moving with Bekins Moving Solutions so we decided to stop and talk to them as they were moving out. They gave us the name of the salesperson Sam and he gave us a great quote. The packing crew was excellent and the driver was very nice as they loaded our things into the truck. We moved from Mission Valley to Carlsbad. They did a great job of setting things up at our new home.

Let me start this by saying - moving is NEVER pleasant (and we have moved A LOT), but a good moving crew can make it less unpleasant. The team (lead by Francisco), was very friendly and professional as compared to previous moving crews we have worked with. I would say nothing important was really damaged - which is a first. I feel like maybe they needed a slightly bigger truck - but they were creative and got it done. My only complaint is on the back end - they were supposed to take away our empty boxes. I called the office several times (they were always friendly), and each time they said “let me talk to dispatch - I’ll call you right back” and they never called me back. So after a week I paid a junk hauler to pick up our empty boxes.

I don’t normally leave reviews unless I had EXCEPTIONALLY bad service. Not only were they unresponsive, not only did they not come the 2 days we were told, not only were they HOURS late to pack our stuff at the end of June, but by the end our rental house smelled like cigarette smoke from their incessant smoking, we received our crates in such disarray that even the packers who unloaded our stuff at our new location noted how awfully packed our crates were. Many things were crushed and broken including our new TV, don’t go with these guys if you value your stuff.
