What an amazing hidden gem. We stumbled upon this local vineyard during covid. We placed an order for some wine to try and the owner personally drove to our house to deliver the wine and tell us all about the wine. We have since ordered many times. We finally got a chance to go to the vineyard for a tasting and we had a wonderful time. The owner took us on a tour of the grounds and facilities where all the wine is made. He then was gracious and invited us into his home to do a tasting because it was still early in the year and quite chilly where he usually conducts the tastings. Had a wonderful time chatting about wine, tasting and getting the chance to play with the little vineyard puppies. I highly recommend this place, make sure you buy your tickets in advance as tasting space is very limited.

What a cool winery and a great experience. And the fact that they're just down the road and I can support a local business is amazing. Thanks for making such great wines that don't give me a headache!

My wife and I were out touring wineries in SE Wisconsin and came to Spirits of Norway unaware that we needed reservations for a tasting. As it ends up, some folks never showed up, and we were able to take their spots. Our gain, their loss. Randy is quite personable and knowledgeable of his craft. As a small boutique winery, they focus on a handful of grapes grown on the property, while also handling other grapes shipped in from other vineyards in order to expand their selection of wines. Having lived for 30+ years in an area known for its German-style wines, and the occasional vintner using the French style of making wine, I found Randy's claim of using the "American style" refreshing. The difference comes from the use of stainless steel barrels instead of wood. The result? Without the oak aging and the resulting tannins that give wines their dryness, you might expect an overly sweet wine. Instead, you get a nice "fruit forward" wine that's crisp on the palate with a hint of sweetness that comes from the fruit's natural flavor more than from the remaining sugars. We're definitely looking forward to another visit, with friends and room in the car for more bottles.
