Walked by here after lunch at Lighthouse Cafe. It’s right next to a sandy beach, ground is bouncy / kids friendly with multiple clean restrooms on first floor of lighthouse. Kids enjoy the slide going down from lighthouse.

Great Newps Pen. spot for kids and adults alike. Great water and boat views, fun playgrounds for kids to go crazy, beach area to post up on and get wet, restaurant near the parking area, etc., plus tons of great restaurants, bars, etc. quite close (Sessions Deli, The Helmsman Brewing, etc.). Have fun!

This playground is even better than the pictures show! It's bigger than I expected. There is a large grassy area, a paved path sidewalk, a cool playground with nautical themed play equipment, a lighthouse bathroom with a slide from the top. There are picnic tables, and we brought a park blanket. The beach area on the marina side has no waves, so it's good for small children (just make sure to get in the water on the deeper side from your kids, since it does get deeper fast and if you have an adventurous toddler you'll need to keep them very close to the shore). The view of the marina boats is great, and we even saw fish jumping and paddle boarders. Parking was not as hard to find as I expected for a beach side place, we got a pay spot by a little green park by the Veterans building, for $5 for 2 hours, which was perfect, and the other car in our group got a free street spot. The only downside was the lighthouse bathrooms got closed around 5pm, right before my older child needed it! There were still a bunch of people there, too, so the should keep those bathrooms open until 6pm. We use the one inside the big building across the grass, by the restaurant, but it wasn't kept up very well, so there wasn't any toilet paper. Bring some of your own TP to be safe. All in all, really fun day outing for our two families! A unique experience, great for kids.

A hidden gem for sure. The lighthouse slide looked like a blast for the kids- I wish I was kid just so I could slide down. Many families were out and having a barbecue. Clean and well kept area.

Yes, there's always cute dogs and puppies enjoying the park and beach. Just watch hours posted and always pick up after, there's also dog bags on poles for your convenience. I love 🐕 !

We would love to have my daughter’s birthday party here in June. Do I need to make any special arrangements?

They have picnic tables. Some with canopies. We had a party of 10 people between two families. We secured two picnic tables on a weekday. I imagine it would depend on day of the week and the size of the party. We did not have to make any special arrangements.

Is it private? Do they allow dogs ? And can people swim ?
