I’ve been going to this place since 2015 when it was World Gym. I really do miss when it was World Gym, even though the place was expensive they really kept the gym sanitized and in a premium status. That’s not the case anymore since Crunch took over and the place in complete disarray. It is such a shame that the gym is in this state of disarray because it shouldn’t be, given the fact that the gym is in a very nice area it should be expected to perform well. I’ve notice so many of the negative changes happening as the many times I would go. Dirty lockers rooms that smell like urine, steam and sauna room are out of order, lack of toilet paper, some workout machines are out of order, dumbbells are all over the floor and people can accidentally trip on them, etc. I am sure others have more to say about the gyms state. The positive side to this is that the staff is very friendly and helpful. The place has potential. Beyond that the administration has a lot to fix before these issues continue to pile up, otherwise the gyms potentiality cannot flourish. If I don’t see any positive changes I will make my way to find a better a gym. Maybe Crunch can learn a thing or two from its predecessor World Gym.

I signed up for the 1 day trial in hopes of signing up for a new gym in the area. Buy my expectations were let down due to the lack of up keep. Dirty mirrors and several cable machines out of order. this place definitely needs some work.

I really want to like this gym. Good price, the employees are nice, and most of the regular gym goers have been pretty nice. However, this gym is in disarray. At least half of the gym equipment is out of order and does not seem as though it will be resolved any time soon as many of them have been broken for months. On their Instagram account, they advertised a "new" cable machine, it was literally called new. However, it has significant wear and tear, where many of the switches are busted. Although this next critique is more directed towards the quality of the members as opposed to the employees, steps still to be taken in order to resolve this issue. There is a lack of gym etiquette. Weights are not reracked and/or scattered across the gym. Dumbells are left all over the floor, and random equipment left in places where they do not belong. As I stated, this says more about the members than the employees, but as employees, they should take more responsibility for this matter by either asking members to rerack or make it a habit to go around the gym every so often to rerack as needed to keep the gym in order. The gym is also filthy. Many members do not wipe after using equipment or leave used paper towels at the equipment or dropping it on the floor instead of in the trash. The gym has thick layers of dust in many places, including on equipment. I've also begun bringing my own toilet paper since all too frequently, the women's restroom is out. I'm am not sure about the state of the men's locker room, but my partner did inform me that it reeked of urine today. As much as I want to like this gym, I am searching elsewhere as none of these issues seem like they will be resolved anytime soon.

I was excited to try the Eastlake Crunch as I am a long time 24hr Fitness member and Crunch is much closer to home, and I was sure it would have newer equipment and it had to be cleaner and better maintained. To be fair, I know Crunch is going for a discount pricing, so I did not expect better or more equipment. When I walked in I saw a well lit room with clean laminate flouring and newer white machines. I was surprised to see a 4 lane lap pool! And they have a couple of "water therapy massage chairs" that are a sweet bonus. I did a trial day guest pass and the representative was great. They do have more than one serious Olympic station/racks for heavy stuff with the color coded rubber weights. Good start! Here is the bad: The rest of the free weight and plate loaded equipment areas was dimly lit and kind of filthy. The floors were appalling with dust/filth wads and shreds of discarded cleaning towels were in all the low traffic ares such as walls, between equipment supports etc. And the frame rails of the cable racks, presses, benches etc were absolutely black with sweaty debris collection. Dumbbells were not plentiful and were scattered about on the floors. They had at least 4 major pieces of equipment (lat pull down, pull up/dip rig with knee counter weight etc) that had "out of service" placards that were soiled enough to demonstrate the equipment and been down for a while. They also had a surprising amount of very old some times extremely well worn and rusted equipment. Even a few very out dated poor ergonomic pieces I have not seen since YMCA gyms in the 80s. Lastly, I was there in early afternoon on Wednesday before Thanksgiving; not busy; however, they had so few plates for the free weights that people were having to wander around and ask...."do you needs those 45s? or 25? or 10?. There was not close to enough free weights for the few people on a Wednesday afternoon! When I was leaving, the same person who initially helped me asked for my feedback and I gave her my positive and negative as above. She acknowledge the mess and said they had just hired a new cleaning person, as the previous person had left 3 weeks ago. Hmmmm... so what I saw looked really bad. It was not 3 weeks accumulation. Do they really rely on a single person to maintain a busy gym. I did not see the restrooms. She also acknowledged the shortage of plates and said it's been a problem since they opened but the powers that be, don't seem inclined to purchase more. Perhaps the new cleaning person will do a better job. What about the management? Do they care? I have a new found appreciation for 24hr Fitness.

Do i need to get a Pass exclusively for this gym ? I was told my normal crunch membership(which allows me to go to any crunch I've been to the one in OB, Bonita, and Rolando with this pass) wasn't accepted at this gym.
