We have used Abe's since 1984 and have always had excellent service. Our bill went up 20 dollars, and then next time another 20 dollars so I called and they said we were allowed one can for the 75 dollars. We had only had one can most of the winter anyway because we started recycling plastics over a year ago. We can only put one garbage can out, and they said size did not matter. We have a 55 gallon one. Our neighbor has a cart which holds three -32 gallon garbage cans and she gets charged the same amount as we do. So that would be 96 gallons for the same price. I put a couple of empty plastic fertilizer bottles ( clean and dry) inside an empty bag of organic fertilizer ( empty bag) and he put it back into our garbage can. I looked at restrictions on webpage and these were empty and cleaned out, nothing hazardous. Now I guess I have to take somewhere to dispose of it. He made a point to say that his family used to burn their garbage out in the country- I guess he wants us to do the same

We decided to go with Abe’s to support local business however, our experience has been subpar. I cancelled my services almost a month ago and was charged $66 for another quarter of service when I wasn’t supposed to get charged. I called twice to get a refund and it has been almost 2 weeks without my money. My bank does not take that long to process refunds. First time I called they stated nobody closed my account hence why I got charged. Called the second time and they stated “they will put it in”?! So the first time I called was for nothing!? I also asked for a receipt of the refund and never received one. I’m still waiting on my money.. this constitutes as fraudulent activity.

If I had the option to NOT add stars at all, they would not receive any. We went with Abe's to support local and they are a complete joke. They have thrown away trash cans, 3 now to date in a years time, leave trash behind, THROW our existing trashcans in the alley instead of putting them in the spot they belong. Send us "Late Notices" when we don't even receive our FIRST statement to begin with. We will be switching services. Absolutely worthless.

ACCEPTABLE RECYCLABLES: Aluminum and Tin: Rinse containers Aerosol Cans and Paint Cans: Must be empty Paper: newspaper, magazines, brown grocery bags, telephone books, catalogs, office paper, envelopes, cereal boxes, beverage boxes, frozen food packages, and juice boxes Cardboard: Clean corrugated cardboard boxes or shipping boxes under the bin. Break down or cut the boxes so they are flat Plastic: Rinse out containers. We accept plastic container numbers 1 through 7. To recognize look at the bottom of the container for the recycling symbol 1 through 7.
We do not accept the following items: rubber-bands, plastic bags, soiled paper, tissue paper, paper towels and wax coated paper.
