We were able to make last minute reservations and they were extremely accommodating. We got their a little early and were greeted by several friendly cats. We got to spend some time petting the horses and bonding. It was personally my first time riding and the older gentlemen and women were great and helping me pick a horse and letting me ride the one I felt most comfortable with. Sierra (my horse) was so gentle and kept trying to sneak snacks on the shrubs during the ride. It was a stunning view and an easy ride, especially for a first timer. I highly recommend the experience if visiting near Asheville.

Thoroughly enjoyed our ride. The horses were calm and knew the way & the trail was beautiful. Thankful to our guide for good direction along the way. Well worth the money.

Smoky Mountain Riding Stables is a great place to be for family fun. The staff is courteous and always is ready to assist anyone who doesn't have experience in riding horses. They will assist younger and older people on and off the horse and give people a chance to ride that have never had that opportunity. We have came to ride here for the last 12 years, it is that much fun for the family. We have pictures of our grandchildren riding from age five or six until 16 years old. It's amazing to see the changes.

Yes, they have 50+ horses. Just be sure and make reservations ahead of time.
Not during the winter months. But the next time you go, consider staying at Bear County Jewel condo.
45 minute ride was 25 dollars a person plus tax.
