We found the hotel to be dirty. Our bathroom tile had four different types of grout and it moved as you walked on it. The small kitchen table had a broken leg. One of the nightstands was replaced with a round table and the light plug was wrapped in duck tape. The hallways smelled like urine. We always stay at Marriott and have stayed at several residence inns. This one was the worst. The room needed a gut and referb. The hallway rugs needed to be deep cleaned.

All of the front desk-desk/room service/kitchen/cleaning staff are excellent but Stephanie, in particular, deserves recognition for her professionalism, friendliness, conversation and helpfulness. *ALL* the staff went to great lengths to make sure my stay was as pleasurable as possible. I think they all deserve raises! If you are lodging locally for more than a couple days I’d highly recommend the Residence Inn by Marriott Chapel Hill delivers. Located within a conveniently and IDEAL area of Chapel Hill. Clean, well appointed rooms. Housekeeping is expeditious and detailed. Maintanence concerns are addressed immediately. Courteous, friendly and compassionate staff. Free hot breakfast buffet included every morning. Reasonably priced, freshly cooked, made to order dinner beginning at 5:30pm (jumbo chicken wings/legs are crispy and delicious. There is a pool, two well maintained grills, a small putting green, a billiards table, and plenty of room for dogs to play behind the buildings if you want to play fetch (as well as doggy-doody stations). I got my room for only $114 per night through Travelocity (any other service may work as well). The hotel is located within half a mille of at least 5 supermarkets. Rooms include a full kitchen (besides an oven). Housekeeping staff is friendly, thorough, and professional. The front desk staff is accommodating and helpful. I highly recommend The Residence Inn by Marriott.

It would be 5 stars if not for the pet and urine odor emanating through the doors of lots of the rooms and the faint pet urine odor in the hallways. Clean room, super comfy bed, decent black out curtains, cable selection is very basic.

Our stay was excellent! I am a patient at UNC and the location made it a quick commute to the hospital. Our suite was spacious, very clean, and accommodating- even for my toddler. The breakfast bar was the best I've experienced and not to mention the breakfast attendant was so kind, helpful, and such a hard worker. I hope they take great care of her! All of the staff were so pleasant and helpful and our overall stay surpassed our expectations. We will definitely be back for future UNC visits.
