I had the pleasure of going to the DMV to get a NC drivers license. Best experience I ever had at the DMV it started out with a young lady name Allen she was very helpful and explained everything I needed to start my process, of course I was missing one piece of paperwork. She took her time with me and I appreciate her patience. I didn’t have a long wait which is unusually everyone knows DMV is an all day affair but not here. My next step was to hand in my paper work and take my sign & eye test, where I had the pleasure to meet Stuart he was pleasant and we had a few laughs he also advised me what I needed in order to change my plates from NY to NC. I just want to thank Allen & Stuart for a smooth & great experience @ DMV David Taylor

Location is always busy and have a lot of Q. But you can book your appointment online for future if you don’t want to wait. Don’t expect respect from Staff other than simply getting your license. If you are visa holder here are the documents you need. Passport H1B copy or H4 copy 2 address proof. Example: lease document, utility bill or bank statement Previous drivers license if you are renewing or doing a state transfer SSN card original I-94 Car Insurance copy- you to have to print it Appointment confirmation letter if you have booked appointment. If you are lucky enough visit on rainy day where there will a lot less Q’s

Ms. Gilchrist was very helpful, attentive and informative. She's very nice, graceful and my whole process took less than 10 minutes with her. That is including me walking up to her desk. Be considered lucky if you get her! She's awesome!

This location is open now on Saturdays from 8a- 12p. Get there an hour early! I arrived at 740a and was 68th in line. Wow! Over 175 people in line. Part of the wait line extends into parking lot in FULL SUN! Be prepared to wait in line over an hour. Go earlier than I did. Take current insurance card. They will not accept anything on your phone. Have hard copies of each document. Good luck!

How is the road test like at this dmv for drivers license? How is the road signs test like for drivers license? What skills to look out for road test?

Good morning to you Naveena. The road test is fine. A 3-point turn on a side road and the rest is using your signals and observing the speed limit. The road signs are standard. The tests and road signs are available online. Google DMV practice tests and road signs. Why are you still asking so many questions Naveena?. Almost 50 questions that you ask about the same thing, over and over again. You already have a Learner's permit, you know what tests involve. Wish you the very best. Have a nice day.

What skills are asked in the road test for drivers license?

It's pretty basic stuff like you have to know how to do 3-point turn, take straight reverse, stop on cue and follow the rules like turn signal, lane change ..that's it for NC drivers license
