A nice place with a series of long trails. Very easy to get lost so bring a phone. There aren't any restrooms so be prepared for that. There are rattlesnakes but they don't come out. You can ride a bike or just hike on the trails. There aren't really any benches or tables there.

Parking is always packed with folks most of them not even using for hiking trails but for carpool or homeless stay. Seems like someone is always arguing or even fighting.

DON’T BE A VICTIM! Someone must have seen me hide my purse in the trunk before starting my hike. I never leave valuables in sight but in this case it didn’t matter. I was only gone for an hour and when I got back my window was busted, and they were able to open my trunk with the interior button. They must have been just watching and waiting for a victim. Apparently smash and grabs are not uncommon here, and it’s a quick getaway.

Bikes never obey rules here!!! I wish the park system would enforce the rules for safety. Bikes are only allowed to be on the fire trails (8 feet wide or greater) They zoom past you on narrow hiking trails and expect hikers to yield to them. It's obnoxious and unsafe. Bikes also ride before the park opens and after it closes. They do whatever they want and DGAF about rules. EASTBAY PARKS STEP UP YOUR PRESENCE!!! DOGS ARE NOT ALLOWED according to park signs but people also walk their dogs all the time (some off leash.)

Is this a nice place to run? What are the hills/ inclines like?

Not too sure about the running, but this is a major biking trail spot with great inclines and declines. There are multiple trails and some are suitable for running/hiking, but others are narrow and solely meant for mountain biking. Hope this helps!

Do you have to pay for parking?

Parking is free but limited, get there early and get yourself a spot.
