We have had a good experience with Home Care Assistance Palo Alto. HCA is very flexible in setting up the schedule to meet our needs Our aide helps both my wife and me. She is pleasant, attentive without being obtrusive, and has adapted well to the peculiarities of our household. She takes on tasks without being asked such as doing the laundry.

My Father became quite ill and required Home Care assistance. The hospital he was admitted to recommended this agency. I was put in contact with Jonathan Mendoza who managed the care. He was nothing less than outstanding. From the beginning, he determined my father's needs and quickly arranged 24 hour aid care for my dad. The aids always arrived promptly, were all well trained and very caring. Whenever a change was requested by our family, the agency was always very accommodating. Jonathan Mendoza's management was extraordinary and I felt at ease knowing that he made certain that my dad's care would be provided at the highest level. I strongly recommend this agency. A great service organization. They operate very quickly and efficiently and they have provided excellent service to a family member with significant cognitive dysfunction. Cognitive therapy nursing care has been superb and care for her every day needs has been excellent. The quality of the individuals has been outstanding. They are both very kind and thoughtful in addition. Both almost immediately have become like family members.

Deanne and her staff was so impressively attentive! Deanne returned my call the same day I had called her about my 92 year old mother which we needed help with in Rossmoor Retirement Community in Walnut Creek Ca. We set up a meeting at my mothers Condo in Rossmoor and the respiratory therapist she had on staff was set up for 3 days a week. The first day she and my sister(a nurse) met her, both thought she would be perfect. She came to my mothers condo on Tuesday for her 1st day and they both got along perfectly, she was a great fit for us and reasonable priced. Unfortunately for all of us my mother passed away comfortably with all of us at her bedside the next evening. We were looking to a longer relationship with Deanne and her staff, but from what we all saw especially with quality care and dignity this is the best home assistance around, and with multiple areas being served because I started looking in Palo Alto and had her staff right there in Rossmoor as well!

If you value safety, security, and reliability, yes. A quality home care agency is insured and also manages the performance and scheduling of its caregivers, handles billing and payrol, and has back-up caregivers to fill in when needed. With a private hire caregiver, you’re responsible for setting up payroll and withholding taxes, caregiver vetting and background checks, and purchasing sufficient liability insurance to cover any accidents or injuries in the home.
We follow infection mitigation best practices and safety protocols, informed by the CDC and local authorities, and provide appropriate PPE to our caregivers. The majority of our caregivers and Care Team members are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Home care is typically billed by the hour, so the cost depends on the number of care hours per week and can vary slightly by region. Most families pay out-of-pocket for their care or use long-term care insurance.
The best caregiver is an experienced professional who has the training and skills to support your loved one’s care needs. It’s also imporatnt to find a caregiver who’s extremely reliable, has back-up if necessary, and is a good fit in terms of personality and shared interests.
Home care is a supportive service provided by a professional caregiver in the home or community where a resident lives (in addition to facility supports) for peace of mind, companionship, and personal care. Caregivers can perform tasks such as running errands, preparing meals, assisting in the shower, fall prevention, and initiating brain stimulation activities to stimulate cognitive function.
