I came here as a solo traveler in February, and it was such an amazing place to get away for a weekend. The grounds are beautiful, the rooms are super comfortable. I stayed in a room with a fireplace and a jacuzzi - such a treat! They are charming but also very modern, equipped with a Nest fire alarm to keep you safe. The hosts, Lisa and Kermit, were very welcoming and made great food. I have been before with a partner, and it was amazing. It was also really fun as a solo traveler. Highly recommend!

Kermit and Lisa are amazing hosts and everything down to the last detail is thoughtfully provided. I have stayed there 4 times and there are new upgrades every time I come back. It is everything I want in a getaway and I can’t wait to go back and see what else is new. Super comfortable beds and delicious breakfasts too.

Beautiful location, delicious breakfast, enough to last until dinner for us. Modern fixtures in a well preserved historic lodge. Great site for further adventures in the McKenzie River area or a quiet natural paradise for watching birds and listening to the River bubble by. Rooms have everything you need. We’ve already rebooked for my husband’s birthday!

We are waiting to hear final news - it appears the Lodge has survived the fire - but since we have not had access for over a week - we don't know for sure. We will not be taking any further reservations until we know more.
We have been told the Lodge survived the fire - however we have not been allowed back up river to confirm. We will not be taking any reservations in the near future as we anticipate a large clean up effort.
Hi Ed, Thanks for asking about fishing! First off, you can fish in our backyard - no waders needed (or even wanted) since it's a quick drop off to deep water. There are parts of the McKenzie River that you can wade, but overall it's a swift cold river - so, drift boat or bank fishing is best. On the upper river (where we are) you catch Native Rainbow Trout and sometimes a Bull Trout! Fishing by the Lodge is fly fishing only (no bait) and you will need an Oregon fishing license (which can be procured either online or at several local shops). If you are looking for a guide - we'd suggest you go to the McKenzie River Guides website - I'm happy to say that they are ALL great! We'd have a hard time recommending just one person.
Hi - we have some amazing mountain biking trails just up the road from the Lodge! The most popular ride is the McKenzie River Trail (sometimes referred to as America's #1 Trail! This trail is 26.5 miles long on a single track. The lower half is Beginner to Intermediate, while the upper half is Intermediate to Difficult. Another challenging trail is the O'Leary Loop Trail - 19 miles of single track - rated as Difficult. Riders on the O'Leary Loop Trail should be strong knowledgeable mountain bikers! Last, but not least is the amazing McKenzie Pass Scenic Byway - this is a 36.5 Mile ride. Gentle increase from Sisters to McKenzie Bridge - or a 4,000 ft big climb in the opposite direction. The best time to ride this trail (road) is before it opens for cars (usually mid May - mid June). Yes - we have a safe place to store your bike/s - and can help arrange for shuttle service!
Hi - we do not do weddings inside the Lodge - outdoor weddings only! So weddings are limited to May, June, July, Aug, Sept and early Oct.
