My parents and I had a month left of our membership and my mother tried to renew with a promo of $1 & $10/mo. The manager Khaysaid to wait until the last month. My parents went back, but the manager said the promo expired, but would try to waive the annual fee. My parents left and never heard back. My mother kept calling but the manager was unreachable. We went in and she said she couldn't waive the fee. Since our memberships expired, she said we would need to pay the annual fees again, $49/ea. She also kept pushing the black card update. The cardio equipment has a lot out of order Crowd meter is inaccurate

It’s acceptable +. I recently went from the ymca to planet fitness to work out and the equipment is clean and I like that they have duplicates of many of the weight machines. I had help from the personal trainer to accommodate an exercise, and it was helpful, but felt uncertain. The cardio equipment feels stale with old stickers attached, some rust, and retired iPod attachments. But it’s in working order and clean. You can’t beat the price and the bringing a friend is a huge perk.

Scam. To cancel you have to either come in person, or send a letter explaining why I (or anyone) wants to cancel. Why do I need to advise Planet Fitness why I want to cancel. Maybe due to the three years that I haven't used the facility, asked that it be cancelled in 2019 last time was there, and it wasn't. Bad business model. Every other business partner I/we have would accept a call or email to cancel anything. But not good ole Planet Fitness!!!

I've been a member for several years. During last year's Covid 19 shutdown, I had to call Planet Fitness many times to ask to put my membership on a freeze indefinitely (until it was safe to return) because of my age and being in a high risk group. They ended up charging me anyway for most of the year, only refunding a couple of months. Manager Patrick was rude and hostile, claiming that I wasn't due any refund, as the club had opened up in August, 2020, during the pandemic. In a nutshell, they make it EASY to join, but IMPOSSIBLE to cancel. I am appalled at the unprofessional way this company does business and treats its members.

They also charge a one time fee of 39.99 if you pay monthly so it adds up to the exact same price.

Yes. There's a free class for orientation, but you have to sign up for it.
