Dispatch female on duty Feb 14 at 10:30 am was one of the rudest and condescending humans I have ever dealt with. She clearly does not enjoy her job. She would benefit from public relations classes.

Don't report a loose/lost dog to the PD. They will tell you to just let it run free with no tags and tell you to violate the town leash law. Found a dog playing with my dog in the back yard. No owner in sight. No identification on the dog and no one calling for the dog. Called the police and qaited for them to come get the dog to help find the owner and the cop literally asked of I tried letting it off it's leash with hopes it would just "go away". Putting not just the dog at risk of getting hit by a car but by allowing the dog to get tangled up with other animals and pets all over town. They only care what is convenient for them. Letting the dog loose violates their own leash law. Laconia laws state they are to impound the dog and the owner will have to get it through the shelter. I should be able to allow my dogs out on their runner and not worry about a random dog jumping all over mine or even getting tangled up with my unfixed great dane. I had a dog years ago that was almost killed by a pitbull that belonged to my own neighbor. My dog required surgery and stiches because of a loose dog. Follow your own laws Laconia PD and show a little compassion for lost animals.
