This station gets such a low score because of the accessibility issue. If you are traveling via wheelchair or have some kind of mobility issue it will be difficult to access because the station is only accessible through stairs. The MBTA has plans to improve accessibility along this commuter rail line, How long it takes my be difficult to tell. Otherwise, the Newtonville commuter rail line stop is a good way to travel into Boston and Worcester. If you're traveling to Boston the train ultimately stops at South Station, This is important to know because any northern travel from Boston requires you to travel by foot, can, or light rail to North Station.

The newtonville train station should be open now. If you have a smart phone you should download the mticket app. Otherwise bring cash with you and buy it on the train.
