My mother went to live at Hanover hill when she could not cook for herself or take her meds without reminders. My mother was very active there and did not need direct nursing care. Recently when her health declined and she needed assistance with bathing, eating, toileting the quality of care dropped to zero stars. My Last 3 conversations with my mother would be me telling her that I will call the nursing station to get her assistance for bathroom or getting into bed. There are several nurses that are shining stars but the weekend staff was horrific.

As an outside provider for hospice patients at this facility for over 7 years, I had the great pleasure of working with amazing staff. The quality of care provided to the residents is the most outstanding. The food service is also amazing (not your typical nursing home food). The environmental team does exceptional work at maintaining the property inside and out. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone who needs assistance in caring for their loved ones.

Nurse Stacy made my grandmother's life a living hell. She has no respect. And shout out to Hanover Hill's staff for asking my mother, "Would you like a box to take her stuff with you?" This was while my grandmother was laying dead in her bed. How disgusting! My grandmother passed away at 3 AM, and the nursing home demanded her stuff to be completely removed from the premises by 12 PM that same day. INAPPROPRIATE Several times the staff would deny my grandmother visits to the hospital. They would say we were all being melodramatic because she was sick "with a cold" that ended up being pneumonia. She almost died becaise of this. They would threaten to kick my grandmother out of the nursing home all the time. It added so much additional stress to the situation. The only person there that actually cared about my grandmother was Bishnu, and I am so happy that she went out of her way to become a nurse. But to the rest of the staff, have more compassion for the elderly because this is where you will end up.

My Memere went to Hanover Hill multiple times over recent years, most recently in January 2018 for hospice care, where she passed away about a week and a half later. Previous stays had their own issues, mainly with unkind LNAs, bad housekeeping and general disinterest of the staff, but the last time was the worst and definitely a far cry from "hospice." Due to her inability to swallow, she was unable to eat near the end. Nurses harassed her and scolded her to the point where she had to speak up and say "It's not my fault." A few days before she passed a male nurse came into the room and was angrily telling her she had to take a shower that day. (Why, when was so close to the end? Leave her alone!) It seemed that the staff was always there to scold her or be rude, but no one was ever around to offer her comfort or really help her. They spoke down to her as if she were an insolent child, despite the fact that she was sharp and aware right up to the end (and even if she hadn't been, that wouldn't be an excuse to treat patients they way they do!). Avoid this place at all costs. She desperately didn't want to go to HH after all of her bad experiences but it was the only place with available beds. Please, for the sake of your loved ones, bring them somewhere else. It really doesn't take much to be an improvement over Hanover Hill.
