I stayed at one of the dv shelters for almost a year and instead of getting help I was put on the street in February with my then 6 month old daughter. Thankfully I was lucky enough I didn't have to go back to my abuser but another younger women there was not so lucky and ended up at the hospital. She was kicked out with less than 24hrs notice bcuz they felt she could afford to find her own place to live. She was still going thru the emotional trauma of being beat mentally and physically

I am wondering if they have emergency shelter for men when they are emotionally and phycology abused? Are men allowed at same place or would they be treated with discrimination and placed elsewhere?

I have a friend that is a receptionist his named Eugene Lawrence he finally took me there on a Saturday when they had a big award for all all the people that work there help people that are in danger who needs help with housing if people need clothing which is called the Missy's closet that they have downstairs and you find shoes you find everything that you need to survive at a very cheap rate and the misses closet was donated from Frank his daughter was named Missy so they opened up the Missy's closet for them to help other people and his wife is so dedicated and everybody that works there is so dedicated to everything that they do and it's just so amazing I never thought of even going there but days that I have off from work I go there just to help I volunteer there and I'm going to start taking some pictures so you can just see how beautiful this places and I know that Eugene has taken pictures of the new basketball he was telling me this he's been doing this for quite some time and he loves it just as much as I do and it's in Manchester the only women's YWCA in Manchester there's more men why does YMCA then there is YWCA and I hope everybody will go there which they do but see what all the good that they do for everyone in this world thank you this is Wanda Gray signing off and you all have a lovely lovely summer thank you
