The people here are super great. Katie at the front is especially wonderful. The locker rooms are some of the cleanest I’ve seen and there’s plenty of cardio equipment. I don’t get to go here often but it’s always pleasant when I do.

Very disappointed in this gym. It has the makings of a great all around gym which is far superior to other "Big Box" gyms. It has amenities galore and is generally clean. The staff are friendly but they don't enforce basic gym etiquette: weights are seldom re-racked and equipment wiped down by the "gym bros". These are the people that cannot exist in a hard core bodybuilding gym so they monopolize equipment with "super sets" during busy hours and scan their IG accounts between sets. Enforce the rules and kill the flaccid "gym bro" culture and this place would be awesome. Until then, spend your time at Metroflex, Independence, or Self Made Training. They seem more intimidating, but their culture is more Pro, less Bro....

I have been a member of the Mountainside Fitness at Desert Ridge for over 2 years now. There is no other gym I would rather go to! The staff is extremely friendly and always very attentive to any problem I have had with my account. Management stays very involved in keeping the club in order and making this a better gym than the day before. Specific thank you to Hunter, Ben, Rod, and Andrea for always being there with a smile on the weekends!

I am in Phoenix for business and took a weekly pass to work out in the down time. The gym is very well laid out and there is plenty of iron to move around in the Cross-Fit section. For the machines there were all I needed and was wondering if there were any missing but could not come up with one. The change room feels more like a spa, very nice done. I really liked the kid section - if I come down with family I would certainly use it. You can leave the kids there for up to 2 hours a day for 4$/hr or 25$/month.

Questions & Answers

I have been a member with Mountainside for a long time and coming to this gym is almost disgusting because you see little girls walking around in damn near next to nothing and old men gawking at them like they are a piece of meat.

My goodness - the girls wear what they want to wear - MSF has no control over that - ditto for all other gyms.

Do they offer single day passes?

Rodney Thomas | Jul 2, 2019

Yeah it's pretty much a "trial pass" to try it out for a day or two

How old do you have to be to workout?

14yrs. I believe you have to be accompanied by an adult. 👍

Monthly membership cost?

Monthly membership is the most expensive choice. If you choose the 18 month contract paying monthly it will save you some money, either way it is reasonably priced for the services and cleanliness.
