Lovely little isolated campground with shower and dishwashing facilities

This State Park Campground is really nicely maintained. Although it would be nice for some electric hookups and a dumpstation. Beside those two things, there isn't a complaint. The facilities are outhouse style and really clean. There is an on-site shower facility that has nice hot showers. The part that I enjoyed the most is the hospitality center at the head of the park. The Camp Host has done a really nice job at making the place homey and inviting. There's a wash station there and a community microwave as well as a camper free swap and help center. Need coffee? Need a place to charge your phone? Really friendly people. Quiet out of the way location (aside from, yes, you can hear the roadway traffic, it's not in the mainstream and bustle). The State Park is right next door and is filled with easy trails for all seasons...and the Playset! Wow...your kids will have a blast. Lost of great picnic spots too. Take a trip and get some fresh air...stay a couple days...unplug. Happy Camping and Trails!

Nice quiet and clean campground. Site was a good size and was level. There is a little area to wash dishes and has a little free library. Campground host onsite to help with questions. Hiking and biking trails across the road.

Pleasant campground in beautiful area near Portland. Nice cheap option compared to hotels. Stayed at #4, good corner location. Showers and little kitchen (all with hot water) are great! Would have been nice if toilets were in the shower rooms too. I like the Phish house up front (I'm guessing camp host?)

Are there any campgrounds in Gray Maine
They sure are! I brought my dog along for camping at the state park campground and took her on the trails. I just wish that dogs were a little more acceptable in town of Freeport as it makes it hard to go grocery shopping, but that's not against the campground or state park. The Rangers and Camp Hosts were all great with dogs being around.
