Elisa did a good job on doing the sisterlocks for me but I didn't feel a closeness or a friendly type of connection. She charged me for a consultation with my hair already braided which she couldn't see how long my hair was. Plus she was 45 minutes late to do the consultation before she had another client to do a relocking. I had previously had a phone appointment for the consultation and she said it was ok to come in the next day 30 to 45 minutes before her scheduled client appointment. I feel her prices are way too high considering my hair was in braids at the time which she could not see my natural hair. Elisa did not give enough information as far as for the caring of the sisterlocks or how to wash my sisterlocks. All I received from her on my supposedly hair consultation is initialing a page and a half full of her agreement to establish the sisterlocks. I feel her lack of communications on my sisterlocks left me feeling how my sisterlocks would be in a few weeks. All she was concern about was scheduling my retightening appointment. She didn't say if I had to paid again for retightening my sisterlocks or if the cost was inclued, plus I live a long way from the Southern part of Phoenix to come down there (60 to 65 miles to her salon one way). I'm going to another consultant who I feel comfortable with.

This was not a good experience for me but it may be for someone else. Sylvia washed out my 3 months old starter locs because she doesn’t really know about loc maintenance. Elisa tried to make me feel like something was wrong with my locs and hair but it wasn’t. I’ve had starter locs before. They wouldn’t have come out with a simple wash, Sylvia also admitted that she was mistaken on what I wanted done to my hair even tho I was clear when I made the appointment and also told her prior to beginning the wash, my starter locs were new and I didn’t want them damaged during the wash. Elisa put them back in and they look terrible. Like worse than when I walked in 4 weeks after a retwist. She also charged me 90$ for a loc start which was $5 more than she quoted on the phone. Was a very dissatisfying experience and I’m extremely upset because not only did I lose 3 months of progress I hate how sloppy and rushed the replacement locs were. Worst nightmare kind of experience but it may be different for you. All in all they seem like okay people, just not sure if you should trust them with your journey. First picture is the day before my appointment. Second is the retwist I had 3 weeks prior. Third is how I left the loc doc salon. You form your own opinions. There’s no way the stylist who twisted my hair didn’t know it looked terrible which is why I just kept my mouth closed and charged it to the game.

I am so thankful for Elisa at the LocDoc Hair Studio! My long blonde hair was damaged a year ago and got worse. It ended up lockin up in one big matte tight on my scalp! I was so frantic. I got a consultation with her right away. She was amazing and so compassionate when I was so upset. She understood saving as much length as possible was important to me and she did and my hair is much healthier and I would definitely go back to her!

I don't know where to start this woman is truly heaven sent... After 3 months of having "sister locks" I decided to switch my loctician and I'm glad I did. I'm so blessed to have run into Elisa. She worked with my schedule and offers payment plans as well. Elisa worked for 2 days early mornings and late nights reconstructing my grid a take down and install of the front of my hair... The finished product is 100 times better than what we started with.. The Loc Doc is AMAZING! She’s the real deal!
