Ryu Sushi & Teppanyaki

Visited for the first time last week, but won't be back. Our usual teppanyaki place was booked until 8, so we decided to give this place a try with a 7pm reservation. While we were seated promptly, it was a full 30 minutes before we were able to order. We watched the chef arrive and cook all the food for the adjoining table waiting for an eternity, before he finished and then turned around and started our order nearly an hour after we had been seated. The food was decent. The show was ok, but not as good as were used to, though they did let our 12 year old do the egg trick, which was cool. The bill for 2 adults and 3 kids was over $180 including the gratuity which was automatically included (no alcohol ordered). the pricing initially looked about the same as our usual spot, but we discovered that $2.5 was added per meal for fried rice as opposed to white. They also charged for the adult meal for our oldest despite ordering the kids portion (who was 12 and qualified for the kids meal). In all, not terrible, but the service was below expectations, the food was about the same and the cost was more so we'll stick to our usual spot in the future.

This place is not bad but it’s not great. The drink selection was solid and the food tasted good but we felt rushed the entire time. It took 45 minutes to get our entire habichi meal but 15 minutes later she was asking us if we wanted boxes. She also gave our party warm beer and forgot our water.

We tried the Spicy Octopus roll and crunch spicy tuna roll. Nothing short of amazing. The Spicy Beef Ramen and Seafood Udon were great too! Service was amazing and I can't wait to go again next time I'm in the area.

I was disappointed. I read the good reviews but I will have to disagree. They totally forgot my sons order. They didn’t bring it until we had all finished eating. They didn’t even offer a discount. It was literally 30 minutes late. Also, portions are way too small for the price. For example, fried rice was $14. Then I got in a small plate. I mean a tiny plate. Our bill was $141 for two adults and two kids only drinking water. This would have been fine if the food was extraordinary, but the truth is that the food was good. Not great. Not worth the price.
