Was a great stay. Grounds are very well kept, sites are nice and the bathrooms were always clean. Will be back again

Wow! This was a really nice inexpensive primitive campground! It was about half full when we stayed there. ( Mid October)The park was clean. The trail was well marked. The bathroom was clean. The day use area was super nice with several private little picnic areas right on the river where you can swim or launch your boat. The water is dark only because the cypress trees put dye in the water, but it was clean and refreshing. This park also has an excellent beach area on boarder with silver lake as well. Most campsites where directly on the " little withlacoochee river" which runs into the "withlacoochee river",which runs into silver lake. A couple campsites including ours ( site 14 which I believe is the best one) has a good view of the little withlacoochee. There are showers in the bathrooms. However in the men's bathroom 1 shower doesn't have a door on it, so nobody wants to use that one. The water was hot if you want that. The biggest negative I can think of also comes with a warning. That is the road in is chock full of pot holes and quite long to get to the campground. The warning is twofold. When you are driving out of the campground, be sure to turn " sharp right " as soon as you pass the gate, or else you have to go out the long long LONG treacherous pot hole filled backroads that lead you far away from where you came in. Also make sure you return before dark or else you can't get back in UNLESS you have the 4 digit pass code "They SAY" is somewhere on your conformation email. Which I never saw anywhere as hard as I looked. Needless to say we were stuck outside after coming back from sonny's BBQ after dark. Don't bother calling the number on the sign because there is nothing they can do for you. They will simply tell you to look on your email for the 4 digit code. Lucky for us the camp hostess ( Neesa I think her name was) went out of her way to help us get back inside. Give that girl a raise!! Also the ranger driving around was super nice and friendly, plus he was fixing the benches in the sites that needed it. Hats off to him as well. Would I recommend this campground? Most definitely! It's primitive of course with only water at the sites, so bring your own power if you need it. Even if you don't want to camp, the day use area is definitely worth spending a day picnic for free, or launch your boat there. Say hello to Neesa and the ranger when you go there. Happy camping 🏕 1 week later. Chiggers results-only 1 Ticks- none Conclusion- October is a good month for camping.

We really fell in love with this little Campground! Its small which makes it better! The campsites are very spacious, well treed, private and well cared for! Campground host is very nice and checks on everyone to see how there stay is going:) Fishing is pretty good, lots of catfish, bass and pan fish to catch and so many great areas to shore cast. It was very quite at night and the owls sung to us all night!
