My gf and I have been meaning to visit The Japanese Garden for a while, but with the limited hours, it’s been hard since we both work during the day. Finally had the chance to visit on Thursday June 30th and unfortunately, it didn’t really live up to expectations. Pros: The hours. They’re only open M-Thursday from 10-3:30pm. That can be a good thing for some, so when you do come, there aren’t an abundance of families or children crowding the grounds. No charge for admission The wildlife. There’s ducks, geese, plenty of birds, some fish (I only saw one colorful koi however) and even two what I believe are great blue heron. Cons: The hours. It makes it rather difficult to stop by if you have a “normal” daytime job. Tickets are very strict and you only have an hour to walk the grounds. We didn’t even need that much. We were in and out in 30 minutes. The grounds were undergoing some renovations and some of the path / buildings were blocked off, so they were rather unimpressive. Perhaps they would be better once that work was completed, but it was rather disappointing.

I have to book appointment online. No entrance fee required at this time. I got to visit last week June 8th. The place is getting a landscape renovation. The gift shop, Tea house and visitor center are still closed. However, I enjoyed seeing the birds, ducks, fish, peaches, bamboo trees, ferns, lotus plants, and the mini waterfalls. Will visit again maybe in the fall.

This place is absolutely beautiful. I’m a huge fan and avid frequenter of Japanese gardens, and botanical gardens in general, and was very impressed by the size and layout of this one. It is very well-kept and honestly it was not crowded at all when we went. I believe they cap it at 15 people per hour so it’s easy to have a very quiet stroll alone or with someone you care about. There are waterfalls, small islands, bodegas to sit in, geese walking around, and all sorts of wonderful things to see. Parking is extremely easy and plentiful. All around a really nice experience and I plan to be back in the future.

Beautiful place, even with certain parts still being closed, like the tea house.

Do not know the reason.
$3 or $5.. but its worth. 1 - 2 hour walk if you want to enjoy the beautiful lake and some beautiful photos
You would have to check theit county website. They are still currently closed though and no word on a reopening date.
I believe they are still "temporarily" closed. Been quite a long time now... Nope, still not open. Check their website.
No. They are not open at this time and no word on when... you can visit the website to request a reservation but they aren't doing those right now either. Really sorry. I miss them too.
5$ 👍
The entrance is between Victory and Burbank, on Woodley Blvd. There is a fee to enter but parking is free.
Tea service is every 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month

Only water, No food. There is no food or water inside to purchase. But the parking is next to entrance door, the garden is small and you can go in/out as much as you want to. I recommend to leave your food in your car.
$5 adult, $3 seniors over 62 and children under 12
Maybe? They are kind of really weird here to be honest.
Not allowed. You could never even get tickets for that many at one time slot even if it was allowed.
Last time we just used our phones, as long as they can scan the bar code I'm guessing everything should be fine.
There is a link to their website on the Google overview page. Go there and click the link that says "reserve time slot" under hours and admissions. From there it will show you what times are available.
They have finally reopened for timed entry recently. Go to the website to make a reservation.
They are still not sure but I called 2weeks ago.
You would have to contact them directly or the city of Los Angeles parks and recreation. Unfortunately, the garden is closed at this time.

I believe so.
It only arrives. When you enter, park and then walk to the gift shop. There you pay to enter the garden. They charge $5 for adults and $3 for children under 12 years old. They give you some stickers to show that you have already paid and a piece of paper that has information about the garden. Then you walk towards the entrance and enter the garden.
5 Dollar
Yes
The have a website with hours.
The garden closes at 4 p.m. However, security stops letting people in at about 3:30. My recommendation is to get there by 3. It takes about 45 minutes to walk the garden at a leisurely pace. Also I would wait another month. The heatwave this summer damaged a lot of plants. I was there two weeks ago and they had removed and pruned many shrubs. Also, if there is any rain, no matter how much, the garden is closed. I hope this helps you.
No there are not
